It's not a service, it's a joke. And a poor joke. $14.95 a month and I have to
wait, and wait and wait for downloads. Half the time, the downloads don't even
start. I have to stop them then try again. Sometimes, I even have to close down
my newsreader, Agent, and reboot it, apparently to latch on to a server? I've
never seen it so bad. ANyone from Usenet out there? Can you give me a reason not
to look for another service?

Hello,

Which server are you using? We have a secure SSL server,
and another without SSL. As well, agent has keepalive
settings in the server section of the tools menu.

Where are you located? We are wondering about your
internet provider. Usenetserver Support has not received
reports from other users about the problem you are running
into.

Let us know which server address is entered in Agent's
server settings, and where you are located.

Using news.usenetserver.com

Cable is Optimum Online with Boost. I get speeds of up to 30Mbps in just about
everything else I do except here on UNS. New York metropolitan area..

Please change the server hostname to 74.209.129.10.
Usenetserver ports apply.

Please let us know the results.

When you're seeing slow speeds, or if you are still experiencing slow
speeds, can you past the results of your trace route?
https://accounts.usenetserver.com/action/traceroute.php

Does using port 7000, 8000 or 9000 help at all? They are alternate routing
ports that may help if your current path is taking a slow route.

Thank you,
Mark

I'll try. I reset to server hostname to 74.209.129.10 last night and it solved
the immediate problem, but just now, using that hostname, it took almost two
full minutes to download 455 headers from a group I check several times a day
and doesn't when I can get a connection, usually take that long.
