Irrational haters seldom hate alone. They feel compelled, almost
driven, to entreat others to hate as they do. Peer validation bolsters
a sense of self-worth and, at the same time, prevents introspection,
which reveals personal insecurities. Further, individuals otherwise
ineffective become empowered when they join groups, which also provide
anonymity and diminished accountability.

It sounds so terrible, doesn't it. How could they do that to
themselves? But we might be the ones who are doing exactly that!
Are you an atheist? Don't you just hate those Christian
Fundamentalists? They are so clueless and uneducated to believe in
such unscientific ideas. They don't even have the intelligence to
realize that there is no such thing as God in the whole universe.
As I don't have enough hatred in me to make it palpable, let's visit
the Usenet newsgroup alt.atheism to see how it is properly done.
