The full moon and clear, calm night brought the temps here to 26
degrees overnight. (More info on Useful Gardens Blog). So far no
damage obvious, but we were expecting it and were watering and
covering those young plants we thought couldn't take the cold.

Did anyone have tender plants out?
Any reports on disasters and survivors?

Once burnt (or frozen) twice shy... I'm not going to plant till May
this year with all the crazy weather!

It's been crazy but I have to admit that this is a frost we always
anticipate. My weather records show that we've had a frost or freeze
the first week in April almost every year. In 2007 we woke to some
snow!! These are rarely heavy, though, and our friends in town don't
even experience it, thanks to the warming effect of asphalt and
buildings.

Luckily I didn't have anything out for this cool snap; however, the
light "frosting" that we got early morning on the 17th stung my young
ones. I had been holding off and holding off, byt by Wednesday I just
couldn't take it anymore...I planted. <sigh> Oh well, should have
listened to my elders! When I looked again yesterday, several leaves
on the 'mators had frost spots and one stem was whithering... :-
( Looks like my parsley lost a few shoots also. Doesn't seem to
have phased the peas or lettuce... :-)

Cheers,
