Choosing a dealer for oil changes can be more expensive; however
dealers sometimes have great oil change specials, so call around. If
you choose an independent garage for the first time, try to mark
things like oil filters, tires etc. You will not know the integrity
of the shop right away, but you can learn a lot about the shop with
one simple oil change. If recommendations are made, to use synthetic
oil or replace filters, decline the recommendations until you do your
homework.
Replacing some easy parts yourself won’t hurt, parts like wipers, air
filters etc. You can go to the dealer and purchase the parts and
replace them yourself, a five minute job could save you a few bucks

could try that route as well.
