Greetings Ndugu!

Next Tuesday I will be meeting with a representative from Maryland's Dept. of State, discussing sister-state, sister-city, institutional initiatives between MD and EA. If you have specific questions, considerations, cities, states or institutions that you would like explored, please contact me  (240) 429 2700 to enlighten me ahead of the meeting.

Have a wonderful week ahead!

Thanks,
Laetitia

Hi Anna,

I trust that you are well.

I would have liked to follow up on our brief chat on sister-state relationships. As a reminder, we met briefly during the Doing Business in East Africa Forum at the PGEDC last month. With the dust now settled, I thought this may be a good time to pick up discussions.

Please let me know when you might be available and I could come meet with you at your office.

Best Regards,

Laetitia

Dear Anna,

I met with Laetitia Mulamula of the Eastern Africa Diaspora Business Council this past Tuesday. We discussed ways in which DBED could collaborate with their organization, and in the course of our conversation, she also mentioned an interest in establishing a more formal partnership between Maryland and Eastern Africa, perhaps through a sister states agreement. I know we have had other inquiries from jurisdictions in East Africa (such as the Nyeri County delegation that visited in May, received by Sec. Murray), and I explained to Laetitia that you would be the best person to chat with on this, as you have a specific process that is followed, etc.

Laetitia, I think that Anna is on travel this week, or is just returning, so feel free to get in touch with her, but be advised that she may take a little time to get back to you.

Best,

Jessica

Ndugu,

Due to overwhelming demands on my schedule, I am stepping down from the board to allow EADBC to find someone who can dedicate the required time and efforts to ably represent Uganda and continue moving EADBC forward.
