Dear Ben,
Warm greetings from East African Business Council.
It was a pleasure meeting you and thereafter having meaningful deliberations on how the two institutions can work together.
Last week we had a board meeting for the Inter University Council for East Africa an organ of the East African Community mandate to coordinate high education issues in the region. The issue under discussion was the continued low skilled manpower within the region. The Board pointed out that, there is need to work hand in hand with the EAC Diaspora in as far as transferring skills is concerned. I did mentioned to them about the US Eastern Africa Diaspora Business Council which we could start with to collaborate, this was very much appreciated.
Any time I will be come back to you on the same. But already an event has been organized to forge a linkage between the Academia and Industry. This will take place on 23 – 25 October 2013 in Nairobi, Kenya.
EABC appreciates your efforts towards recognizing it as a potential partner.
Kind Regards.
