COME CHEER FOR OUR TEAM
Dear Trojans,
USC is one of college football's most intriguing teams to watch in 2016. New coach Clay Helton takes over on a full-time basis, and his first year at the helm features
one of the nation’s toughest schedules. The Trojans open against defending national champion Alabama, play at Stanford, Utah, Washington and UCLA and match up against Notre Dame, Oregon and Arizona State at home. As if that wasn’t enough for Helton, USC has
to break in a new quarterback and is thin on proven options on the defensive line. The Trojans aren’t hurting for talent. However, big question marks remain in Helton’s first year.
We will try to arrange 4 games this year, Alabama, Stanford, UCLA and Notre Dame, depending on time and TV availability. Let's get together and cheer for our beloved Trojans.

The university remains the leader among U.S. schools for most all-time medals and gold medals, and continues its streak of having won
a gold medal at every Summer Olympics since 1912.
USC-affiliated athletes won 21 medals — nine golds, five silvers and seven bronzes — at the just-concluded 2016 Rio Olympics, keeping
the school as the leader among U.S. universities for most all-time medals and gold medals and continuing its streak of having won a gold medal at every Summer Olympics since 1912.
USC’s 21 medals in Rio were tied for second most by an American university in 2016, while its nine golds were fourth most. It is the
third consecutive Summer Olympics that USC athletes have won at least 20 medals. If USC athletes had competed as a country in 2016, they would have tied for eighth in the gold medal standings at the Rio Games and tied for 11th in overall medals.

USC School of Cinematic Arts ranks #1
南加大再度獲評全美第一

The Hollywood Reporter, Aug. 2016) USC's School of Cinematic Arts has been around since 1929, but THR's No. 1 film school — for a fourth consecutive year — always is one step ahead of its time. These days USC is betting big on virtual and augmented reality,
with VR content company Jaunt announcing in January that it would fund a VR incubator at the school. The Jaunt Cinematic Virtual Reality Lab, under construction next door to the Zemeckis Center, will be home to courses like Directing in the Virtual World (taught
by Oscar-winning visual effects artist Michael Fink).

But the school is ahead of the curve in other ways as well, pushing Hollywood toward diversity: In October it received a $10 million
endowment, partly from alum George Lucas ('67), earmarked for financial support for students from underrepresented communities. Says The
Birth of a Nation producer Jason Michael Berman ('06), who teaches a course, "Filmmakers from diverse backgrounds have really incredible
and important stories to tell, so to be able to offer those students these scholarships is going to be amazing and so important." Read

This summer, there are more than 150 projects underway — from renovations to brand-new buildings, built from the ground up. Here’s an update on some of the key projects.

USC Village
The largest development in South L.A.’s
history, USC Village is on track to open in August 2017. It’ll be the first new housing on campus in more than a decade, accommodating
2,700 undergraduates with apartment-style housing for sophomores, juniors and seniors and dorms for freshmen honors students. The dining hall is modeled after Harry Potter’s
