MARSHALL INTERNS AVAILABLE 免費 ~ 南加大商學院優秀大學部暑期實習生徵求台灣雇主 Marshall Global Leadership Program (GLP), 2016 南加大商學院每年暑假遴選10多位優秀的大一學生至海外進行為期兩個月的實習與體, 稱為 Global Leadership Program (GLP), 參與的學生皆是商學院為期一整年的領導開發課程成員, 這些學生入學時為全年級頂尖10% 的族群, 獲商學院院長之邀, 加入課程. 此一 GLP 暑期實習計畫的幾大重點: * 雇主無須負擔任何費用 (費用全數由商學院處理) * 學員成績優秀, 通過層層篩選與審核 * 實習時間: 6/13 - 8/5, 2016 (共八周) * 語言能力: 學員絕大多數僅會英語, 少數可能會些中文 (請留意) 若有任何企業或公司有適當的工作安排, 歡迎踴躍提出申請. 總人數有限, 可隨時與GLP計畫負責人

Dear USC Alums and friends, Would you like to have a USC Marshall undergrad business student (who will have just finished their first year) work as an intern – FREE – this summer? Dean Jim Ellis funds an 8-week summer internship program in Hong Kong and Taiwan for a select group of first-year business students. In return for having an intern (or multiple interns) all we ask is that you create a meaningful and business-relevant learning experience for them. These students come from the Dean’s special leadership development class. He invites the top 15 percent of incoming freshmen to USC Marshall to participate in a year-long leadership development program . These students are then invited to apply for the internships. Marshall staff manages the interview process and matches students with positions – all companies have to do is structure the internship. Attached is an overview document for further reference. If you would like to help mentor a young Trojan this summer and get some great free help for a project, please contact Susanna Zens (ze...@marshall.usc.edu). Students are placed into internships in early April and internships run from mid-June to early-August. Some students speak Mandarin, but many will be English speakers only or have some basic knowledge of Mandarin. |

| The stage has been set for this year’s 86th Annual Oscars, held on February 28th. This year’s nominees will face steep competition to take home the gold they all have been dreaming of. Some big questions of the year include: How will the new addition to the Star Wars movies compare to past ones? How did Mad Max get ten nominations? Is The Martian a comedy? and most importantly will Leo finally win an Oscar? While these questions won’t be answered until the 28th we do have some answers for you if these are the questions you are asking: Where do these screenwriters, actors, composers and producers come from? | Antidepressants can shrink and stunt cancerous brain tumors that are otherwise difficult to treat, an international team of researchers has found. USC School of Pharmacy researchers who led the study on mice found that the drugs stifle the growth of brain cancer, glioma or glioblastoma by suppressing the enzyme monoamine oxidase A, which affects the release of emotional brain chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin. | “Until now, patients diagnosed with these drug-resistant tumors have had no treatment options,” said University Professor Jean Chen Shih at the USC School of Pharmacy and the Keck School of Medicine of USC. “Antidepressants could be a potential treatment, slowing down the cancer growth and extending the lives of patients.” Few options Glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of malignant brain tumor, usually becomes resistant to standard treatments, at which point there are no further treatment options. An estimated 13,000 Americans die from brain cancer each year, according to the National Cancer Institute. The median age of a patient diagnosed with glioblastoma is 64. Patients live an additional 14 months on average after diagnosis. Typically, brain cancer is treated with TMZ — temozolomide — an oral drug that attacks the DNA of the tumor cells.
