In addition to reflections from our cherished alumni, I’ve asked some current players to share their experience at SC. Here is the first installment from Rohan Martin ’19. Rohan is a member of the first freshman class from the beginning of my tenure. This senior class is strong and has navigated through sometimes turbulent waters in order to raise the program to a higher level. I owe Rohan and all of the seniors a debt of gratitude for persevering and excelling during their time here.
To help USC Rugby build memories like Rohan’s, please contribute to our fundraising campaign (link here).

Subject: What USC Rugby means to me
Playing rugby at USC has changed my life forever. It’s hard for me to explain the beautiful transition from a boy first finding a sport that he loved to play as a young freshman in high school to eventually becoming a leader on an organization that is so much bigger than himself at his dream school. It is something I can only hope my children get to experience during their athletic careers. To watch the program grow as much as it has in the past four years and to eventually find myself in a roll of leadership in the program makes me proud and confident in what my Fall ’15 rugby brothers and I have accomplished. The road we have paved has hopefully secured a bright and successful future for the program.
At USC Rugby we have something special. Each day we get to attend the best university in the world and work towards our academic and career goals while at the same time we have this absolute treat of playing rugby at the highest collegiate level. Every time I get to lace up my boots on Cromwell Field or get on a bus with my teammates it is just a bonus to my already great college experience. The doors USC Rugby has opened for me are unprecedented. Aside from the huge Trojan network and arguably stronger world rugby network, I have met so many of my best lifelong friends playing for this team. There is something so special about looking to your left and to your right and seeing the only people you would trust to go to battle with ready to put their body on the line for you. I will never forget my time playing rugby at USC and I will never stop being a Trojan Rugger.
