Nice to hear from you. Hey, why don't you start gettting in touch with our classmates and talk about this.

I think we should have a reunion, imagine 50 years!!!!. I will be attending our annual ChE/Chem reunion in

Newark, NJ this coming Saturday, Aug. 25 and will bring this up with Thelma Yap Codina and maybe start the ball rolling.

 

I am planning to go back there and stay for good. I have a house already built in Bacolod City and God willing, when  my house here in the USA sells  early next year, then the move. Maybe I can help convince our classmates for the 2014 reunion. Maam Roska returned and lives there now.

    In 2009, we had our 50th Highschool Reunion for 3 days in Ateneo Davao. We had it documented in a hardbound yearbook or Souvenir book. We had old pictures of our Schooldays and also the pictures during the Reunion. All proceedings were nicely recorded in several venues from a resort in Samal Island to the Mountain resort in Eden. The more Classmates we can gather the more we can have fun in Cebu.

since we're having it in Cebu anyway.

 

Boy Du, our google moderator was Joe Coligado as far as I know. However, he has passed on. Since you do a lot

of travelling and maybe have the contact to most of our classmates, how about taking the hand at managing and organizing

the reunion. Ask Rudy and Ed to assist you. I will try to help in anyway I can, like contacting and convincing our US group. 

So far, Mr Jumawan, Thelma and I are in. I will contact the rest.

 

How about it? It's still over a year away.

I think the best time to have the reunion is either the last week of January or on the month of February. I had observed that on those weeks, the weather in the Philippines is ideal for golfing  and probably some guys are also interested to see the Santo Nino feast in Cebu.. It is just a suggestion. I have our Yearbook (1963/64/ Yearbook). I heard that you can buy one from USC at $2.00 a copy (more or less a hundred pesos). Some classmates, who finished during summer, are not there and could be in the 1964/'65 Yearbook .

At some point, we might want an Ad advertising our plans in widely circulated national (Philippines) and local (Cebu) newspapers. A bunch of us can chip in for the Ad. timely radio announcements would be good.

Hi Guys:

    I think we need to start the fund raising for our Reunion. I can pledge P10,000 and can remit it to an appointed treasurer which must be in Cebu, like Tony Chian. If Tony can open an account where we can deposit online, any of our Classmates can deposit anywhere in the Phl. Maybe in the US, you can ask your banks the cost of sending it to our account in Cebu. 

    If we can raise the funds ahead the Working Group in Cebu will not have a problem committing to some nice resort and places where we can meet for at least 3 days. Without the funds the Working Committee can't commit to hotel and restaurant Reservations, just in case some will not come. Once we get the contribution from any classmate, it will compel him to attend since payment has been made. It will also make it easier for  the Working group to plan out the Venue and preparations. Maybe we can include the Children/grandchildren preparations in other activities, just in case they will come.

There is no problem sending funds from here but we'll have to know the bank name, account name/# and other pertenent data to transfer funds. Of course, family are welcome. Hi Classmates:

    I was able to talk to Tony Chian yesterday by phone, +632 916 666 1566. He is willing to be our Treasurer and he will talk to the Bank. He wants to get two other classmates in Cebu as signatory. He is getting our emails thru his office Newma...@hotmail.com. He gave the list of our 38 classmates to Rudy from the yearbook. Maybe it's good if they can email us that list.

    I also talk to Vital Cabrido in Cebu yesterday, +63 916 575-5928. Told him to call Tony since he is not using an email. He is happy to hear about our reunion.

    It's good that Rudy has made a new yahoogroups but according to my son Mike, Yahoo has now required everybody to be invited and everyone has to acknowledge. Only Google groups now does not require the lenghty procedure. You just register everybodies email addresses and they can already function. Maybe it would be good to email us the list that you (Rudy) has registered so everybody can email you additional email addresses that is not in the list.

    Once we can get a lot of our Classmates on line, it would be good to send your pictures during College and present pictures with your family. We can have this printed for our Reunion so we can still recognized everybody. This will also be printed in a Souvenir Book that we can print adding the pictures and the program proceedings of the event.

Actually I h ave been in contact with Rudy for the last few days and also Boy Du yesterday. Allow me to update the others with what transpired.

First, I was able to find Rosario Antiga who married Engr. Oscar Pasilan and now resided in Pleasant Home Subdivision in Punta Princesa, Cebu city. she was very happy to know about the fore coming reunion in 2014. I got her office email. Will forward it tomorrow. She said she knows where and how to get Intouch with Jasmin Daclan Cimafranca and Lydia Alicaway who is from San Fernando, Cebu. I will follow up and forward their contact numbers once available.

Second, I requested my son to seek the service of Mabuhay Vinyl Cebu manager to get the contact no. Of Ricardo Aves who continued to reside n Iligan City. Again, will forward this soon.

Third, I was abled to locate the complete listing of our batch 64' Among my memoranda of college days. Will forward this tomorrow.

Forth, am checking with Metrobank regarding opening an  account under USC CHE 64' REUNION with 3 signatories. Will advise result separately.

For our photos, just use our year book for the "then" pictures. And since I never married and no children, I'll send some pictures with family and/or friends as soon as we're set up.

Hi Fiddie/Rudy/Classmates:

      I think Rudy should email us the list who are now Registered in the Yahoogroups so that we can check who are not yet included. It will also be easier for us to email to only a few email addresses. We will also know who are the one not responding that we need to call by phone and assign some classmates to relay by fax whatever message we want them to know. There are also email addresses that are bouncing back which needs to be contacted for their new email addresses. Regards. Boy Du

Amen to Lulu's comments. I'm impressed with the speed of the developments of our reunion conversation.

Thanks to Lulu and Rudy for starting the ball rolling and to Boy Du, Fiddie, Tony C.and the rest for picking up the activity. God speed!!! I promised to look up our classmates ' emails in the Internet. Easier said than done - I found out that unlike before, the site wants either personal info or money in exchange for the info. In preparation to my search, I compiled a list of our classmates from our Yearbook (may not be complete. Summer graduates were not included). Tony C. will be sending the list out to us, but since I already did it, I'm attaching it in two Excel versions. (See attached file: Class Roster.xlsx) (See attached file: Class Roster.xls)
