Dear Listers,
We are experiencing a font conflict when distilling PostScript, and need
some advice.
We are creating PostScript from an layout application on UNIX using Type 1
MathematicalPi-One and HelveticaNeue-Medium from the Linotype Library. We
are also placing Adobe Illustrator 9.0 EPS graphics with the same fonts
(embedded).
Note: the fonts used on the UNIX platform and the fonts used on the
Macintosh are the same names and come from the same font Linotype font
library.
When distilling with Adobe Acrobat (doesn't matter what version), we get a
log file that says this:
%%[Warning: unable to embed font /HelveticaNeue-Medium. Invalid subroutine
number.]%%
%%[Warning: unable to embed font /MathematicalPi-One. Invalid subroutine
number.]%%
We also get a display error when viewing the PDF. Going to a page with a
graphic causes this error to display: "Unable to find or create the font
"MathmaticalPI-One", some characters may not display or print correctly."
We are able to print to a PostScript printer without error.
Please let me know of any experiences you have with issues like this.
Sincerely,
Christopher Lorenzo

This has been answered in detail when you posted the same
question in the pdf for prepress list.
