Colleagues,
We trying to determine if it is practical to update our production systems
to Acrobat 6.
From an outside user's point of view we need them to be able to:
1) Download PDF files and use either the Reader or Acrobat programs.
2) Access PDF files through a browser. Our user population is on Windows,
Mac, MacOS X, and Unix (various versions).
Internally we use Acrobat to:
1) Assemble documents.
2) Extract bibliographic info.
3) Convert a journal issue to individual articles.
We do not use PDF files for print production, but do require font
embedding, font subsetting, and 300-600 dpi graphics.
Does it seem practical to convert our processes to Acrobat 6 at this time?
Is Acrobat 5 more stable and reliable?
Thank you.
Ira
