Hi Everyone

Sorry for the delay. To make up for it, I am posting 2 questions (one on the cardiovascular system and one on the reproduction system). I’ll post the answers at 10:30.

The question on the cardiovascular system:

Consider a normal, healthy person who, a few seconds earlier, was lying

in a supine position (face up) but has quickly moved to a standing position. Predict whether the

following cardiovascular parameters will change by writing Increase, Decrease, or No Change in

the blanks. Spell out Increase, Decrease, or No Change – don’t abbreviate.

_________________ a. Cardiac output

_________________ b. Heart rate

_________________ c. Cardiac output

_________________ d. Total peripheral resistance

_________________ e. Arterial pressure in lower leg

_________________ f. Arterial pressure in brain

And here is a reproductive question:

If the ovaries were removed from an otherwise healthy 20-year old

woman, which one of the following would you not expect to see?

a. increased secretion of FSH

b. increased secretion of LH

c. decreased secretion of GnRH

d. cessation of menstruation

e. lack of estrogen secretion

Feel free to email me with responses/questions.

Good Luck!

Megan
