Hi Everyone,
Several important things going on this week and next
1) Today: Reminder- Student activities fair at LUNCH! Come check out all of the clubs. It can be a good way to get to know upper classmen for advice, networking and (yes) even outlines. Both of us are running clubs (Street Law and Real Estate Law Society) and really enjoyed participating in one or several last year.
2) Today: If you think you are coming to dinner, shoot us an email to let us know so we can get an appropriately sized table. We know you are all very busy, but it always good to take a few minutes out to enjoy yourself (or at least to eat!).
3) Next week: Please see Dean Sridharan’s email below. You have a mandatory meeting next week. You are supposed to go on Wednesday (the secret is you can go Tuesday if you email ahead of time).
4) Outlines. We know you had your meeting with the assist tutors. Hopefully that was helpful. Their general guidance on timing is often quite good. If you need more personalized assistance you should make an appointment to talk to them one on one. We will also be sending out our thoughts later this week. We know it is hard, but don’t get too freaked out about it. It is an important part of studying, but continuing to keep up with class reading and your writing assignments is probably more important right now.
As always were are here to answers questions or just talk. Hopefully you guys are able to make it to dinner tonight
Dear First-Year Students,
This semester, Student Services will host a mandatory workshop on academic integrity for all first-year students. This workshop will take place next week. Professors Rebecca Lonergan and Brian Raphael and the Director of the University’s Student Judicial Affairs and Community Standards office will present on this important topic. The schedule for the workshops is below. We realize that there may be conflicting events on these two days. To avoid a conflict, you may attend on the day NOT designated for your section as long as we do not exceed the room's seating capacity. If you plan to attend on a day other than your assigned day, please email Debra Barnett (dbar...@law.usc.edu) so we can ensure we do not exceed the room's capacity.
Sections A-H Tuesday, September 20th, 12:30-1:10, Room 3
Sections I-O Wednesday, September 21st, 12:30-1:10, Room 3
Please note that sessions will begin promptly at 12:30. Please plan accordingly since lunch will not be provided.
I hope your first few weeks of classes have gone well, and I look forward to seeing you at next week’s workshop. Best,Dean Sridharan
