The KMTriE (Fraternity) has been reactived as a student organization. You can use the name AKA Organization and register as such with the Student Affairs Office. Then, you should have a faculty adviser and your organization should in some way be also recognized by the Dean of Commerce.

Dear Brother AKAns and Sister Sigmans:
I would like to inform you that last night (Aug. 15, Saturday), five of us AKAns (Bobby Baniel Jr., Rico Evasco Jr., Jess Co, Ellery Berciles and myself) and one Honorary AKAn (Gino Bagano, who was the last fraternity adviser and presently still a member of the USC faculty) met at Baseline Restaurant to begin discussions on how we can revive for the second time our fraternity inside the USC campus. Brod Rico Evasco Jr. was chosen as Chairman of the Revival Committee composed, of course, of those who attended the meeting.
Perhaps most of you, if not all of you, are aware that the bitter rivalries between so-called fraternities in Cebu had resulted in the numerous senseless killings and counter-killings. And this has prompted the USC admininistration to all fraternities from operating inside the campus. If we have to go back into the USC campus, we have to drop the name fraternity. We will have to abide by the present rules and regulations of the University governing campus organizations. We will have to revise our Constitution and By-Laws to conform with present realities. Although, in essence, our main objective is to foster brotherhood, AKA will no longer be the same as before. In recruiting members, we will have to forego the use of physical contact. Our traditional way of initiation will have to change and some of you may not like it. This is why I'm writing you this e-mail: to start
hearing your side because this is a ticklish issue. We need your participation because this is your organization. We would like to hear your comments and suggestions. Whatever changes we will have to make, we will submit them to you for your approval.
I have decided to come out of retirement and resume the publication of The Diamond Pen next month in order to keep all AKAns and Sigmans informed on all opinions regarding this subject and the actions that we have taken, as well as the progress of our endeavours. Hopefully, when we have achieved our goal, I would like to suggest that we will let our brother AKAns in the USC campus run our newsletter jointly with us.
