Several weeks ago the committee discussed the seeding of deep bye teams in the trials. We're now ready to vote. The poll is posted in the ITTC forum on Bridgewinners.

Thanks for your participation.

Haven’t been involved in this discussion — too many other things going on and no strong feelings on the topic.

Perhaps bad timing, and/or maybe it is already done this way or I am missing something entirely,  but would like to point out we should be consistent with team PPs which were discounted (or tossed) because they were accrued with ineligible players.  If this is an attempt to more accurately seed the non-byes thru accrued PPs not eligible for deep byes, then those discounted team PPs, when considered as individual seeding points, should probably have that discount removed.

Thanks Adam, and to the rest of you, PLEASE vote! It only takes a moment and we would like a reasonable percentage of you to vote. We’ll probably try the old Mike Becker method of listing who has and hasn’t voted in an email to all of you in a few days, hoping that will persuade more to vote.

It’s really a pretty simple (and usually relatively unimportant) issue - should we rank teams that have byes to the SF and/or Round of 8 byes based only on deep bye PPs (excluding PPs from the prior year’s Trials and PPs earned with foreign players on the team) or based on total PPs for purposes of setting the KO bracket. Almost always, this will only be relevant for the 1 & 2 seeds in the event, since those positions are not shuffled prior to setting the bracket.

There’s some discussion at <http://bridgewinners.com/forums/read/ittc/usbf-conditions-of-contest-issue/>, which perhaps could have been more clearly titled.

It would be easier to vote if I truly understood the issue. I believe that if I don't truly understand the issue, i probably should not vote.
