I recently purchased the MK II with secure from mouser.  When I plug the unit into my windows 11 pc nothing happens with regards to detection and drivers, other than an audible beep suggesting something has been plugged into port.  The leds (blue and white) stay solid - boot selector was set to emmc.
Troubleshooting i have tried:

1. Flashed current base debian usbarmory-mark-two-emmc-debian_bookworm-base_image-20240702.raw.xz boot selector switch set microSD.  After plugging in blue and white LEDs stayed solid.

2. Flashed microSD with Kali: 1. boot selector to microSD and After plugging in the blue light was off and the white light blinked.

3. I also did looks for drivers (unrecognized or others not properly running) using powershell and device manager and did not find any associated with the USB Armory

At no time do I get any hint of driver installs.  I also tried the plugging the USB Armory on my laptop and didn't get any driver detection.  I have not had any other USB issues with other devices using these motherboard ports.

Maybe this is a firmware issue with the USB - is there another way to try and write firmware to this unit? JTAG?

Do you suggest any other methods for fixing this issue?

Hello Scott.

The USB armory is unprovisioned by default.

For step 1. please ensure that you are flashing the *uncompressed* image (e.g. after `xz -d` is run on the .xz file).

For 2. we are not responsible for Kali.

Overall to help we would need the exact commands issued for flashing to see if potential errors like the one I mentioned concerning `xz` might be happening.

The driver evaluation happens only after a proper OS is running on the board, notes on host communication are available at https://github.com/usbarmory/usbarmory/wiki/Host-communication

Kind regards

Thank you for your quick response.

 Extraction methods:

  1. Windows 11 Pro right  click extract all: I extracted usbarmory-mark-two-emmc-debian_bookworm-base_image-20240404.raw.xz using windows 11 pro default right click file “Extract all”

  2. 7-Zip app: I also tried extracting with 7-Zip just in case windows had a problem.

In both cases I used BalenaEtcher to flash the extracted file “usbarmory-mark-two-emmc-debian_bookworm-base_image-20240404.raw”    I got the same results:  verified boot switch on microSD,  Solid blue and white LEDs and no added recognized or unrecognized drivers.  My understanding is that a solid white LED indicates it did not boot correctly.

I am using the usb port that is soldered to the motherboard.  I use my iphone on the same port and xfer data without issue.

I am using Patriot 32GB microSD  HC I Class 10
