Hi there, as i have posted recently with the specs so far for my usbarmory, you can check my questions to see how i have it set up so far.

My question is, how can i set it up so the usbarmory emits a wifi signal? would that be the same thing as a tor tunnel?

(or would that be through USB ethernet mode, if so how do i set that up? it seems it is in usb ethernet mode because when i connect it my laptop disconnects from the wifi then shows it is connected to the device.)

the next question would be, how do i set it up as both ethernet and wifi tor tunnelling? or also be able to toggle it?

in addition, how can i configre it in a way that it uses obfuscated tor bridges? i know it would probably have to request the bridges but how would i configure that?

I appreciate your help.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

The USB armory does not have a WiFi adapter, the only network connectivity is the one provided over USB.

You can use USB WiFi adapters, however this requires using the USB armory in host mode, rather than device mode. (See: https://github.com/inversepath/usbarmory/wiki/Host-adapter)

By default the USB armory presents itself as an Ethernet device emulated over USB. Which OS are you using on your laptop and what is the network subnet of your existing wifi connection? Instructions for setting up network are indicated at https://github.com/inversepath/usbarmory/wiki/Host-communication

You are required to manually configure the interface assigned to the USB armory with IP address 10.0.0.2 (netmask 255.255.255.0). I am unsure about why you get disconnection from WiFi, as we don't enable a DHCP server by default plugging a USB armory should not affect your existing network configuration.

The USB armory is exposed just as a standard additional network interface, as long as there are no subnet collisions there is no need to toggle or modify your WiFi network configuration. If there is a conflict then the USB armory network configuration can be changed.

We have some information available on Tor configuration at https://github.com/inversepath/usbarmory/wiki/Applications#tor-anonymizing-middlebox

However I suggest that you address your normal network connectivity issues before addressing such an advanced topic.

Cheers
