much wud entry b? 3pounds? also this is a good time to get membership
aswel! if we ask ppl to pay 2pounds per term! and they can get 1 pound
off entry to hothouse events mayb? let me know so i can stamp tht on
the posters and flyers!

I'll try and help however I can. I'm good with the pr side of things,
and I'm currently working on a website (from scratch and it's looking
good even though I'm new to it all!) for another society so I could
give that a go if you still need someone.
How about making a list of addresses (locations) of local asain shops,
food places, clubs etc in the area to give out to freshers that may be
interested?!
As for committee structure, does USAS have designated roles e.g.
Chair, vice-chair, treasurer, welfare, publicity, webmaster, events,
fundraiser?! Would be a good way to distribute responsibility to
ensure each side of an event is met. Sub committees and sign up where
ever they like as well. Just an idea we use in another society (and
works very well!).

Kool shri first of all the deal between us and the rikshaw company was
tht we would be promoting tuctuc and therefore they agreed on giving
us one for free but the union does not allow soceities to promote
business in the freshers fair hence we will not be gettin a
tuctuc .Moving on i say we stick with friday as it will be part of pre
carnival lets do it from 5-8 or even 6-9 muslims rozas at park village
if we get the permmision to smoke there i will go and book park
village 2mmrw . So is it a go ahead for tuesday hothouse night tht
confirm me the date (SUNNY ALI AND SHRI) so tht i go and book tht as
welll so tht we can get the posters and flyers ready .We would need to
publicise it at the brighton Uni freshers fair as well maybe 2 of ur
team members can go and maybe Preet can help us out here .As for the
cricket tournament i would like to dicuss it when we meet and WE NEED
TO HAVE A MEETING ASAP. me and ali might be in london nxt weekend or
if ur guys fancy coming down to brighton .we will hopefully have a
gori in a sari thts ur good friend and hoousemate but we need a desi
volunteer who wud be willing to wear sari . i think 2 shishas should
be enuff SUNNY i will try and get in touch with the shisha soceity ppl
and try and get them involved as well as for the samossa we will need
3 packs of 50 samosas each wud we be selling samosas or will they be
for free . I would intially be asking union for 50-60 pounds hopefully
we will get it and Harris has given orders for the tshirts .someone
need to update the website before the freshers . As for the movies
the intreset last year was crap because we had lost the members by
then this time ard we r going to attack from week 0 .i think bollywood
wednesday sounds good should i go ahead and book lancaster for
wednesday .As for garba cant we go to the same place we went to the
last time shri.we need to organise a proper resturant this time ard
for diwali and mayb we can (WE NEED TO HAVE A MEETING ASAP)have a
after party on campus with chai and good music is any of the new exec
good at making CHAI. i was just wondering wud it be a good idea to giv
the new ppl a tour of brighton mayb say on SUNDAY and WEDNESDAY for
those who arrive late i would be willing to take ppl on the tour on
The first sunday .we can speard the word around thrugh mouth 2 mouth (
u knw wht i m talking abt ) and do we plan on having the mela in the
first term like the one we had last year we can maybe do it for week 8
or something and this time raise(WE NEED TO HAVE A MEETING ASAP) money
for the vicitms of middle east crises ACAS ppl are having a history
mouth or something they want us to contribute as well wht can we do
chalooo bhai confirm me the dates and i will try and get the rest
done .And as in regards to the membership fees it should not be
compulsary and we should take it once a year it would be too hard to
collect every term .

the hothouse event is not for thursday anymore...impretty sure mohammad
told u guys in a previous email....thursday has a provisional booking
on it by another party...so we cant confrim that till they back
out...so tuesday the 10th or the 17th are avialable which u guys need
to tell us which one to book on...besides...thursday night is saqqara
night...anywho....i hope u havent printed the flyers alredy....the date
wod obivously be rong...and also its really not eye catching enuf...we
need like desi dancers on it n shit....we did this last year..sorta
worked....i guess me and mohammad can make a few and show them to u
guys....theres no hurry to start flyering alredy...we have till
freshers week to do that...
we CANNOT charge 5 quid entry for shisha night....we wont have any
turnout....as such...we dont need to cahrge entry at all i
think....mohammad is aplpying for 60-80 pounds from the union for the
hsisha night....40 quid max for shishas and another 20 for shisha
tobacco n coal n shit....the samosas we can individually charge
for....a lot more ppl will come this way...150 is too much i think 100
samosas are fine...we dont need a belly dancer unless shes doing it for
free :D....we can think of one for the hothouse night....our goree
frend wont do it..haha...yea u do the music.....dont have much desi
music myself...will u have a car down in brighton?...
AND SOMEONE GET BACK TO ME ABOUT WHETHER A MEETING IS POSSIBLE IN
LONDON/BRIGHTON NEXT WEEK!!...

Basicly, i got in contact with shisha society! and they are up for
giving us 2 shishsa! they said normally they charge 50p for each person
who wants to somke! (which i think is reasonable offer)! all the people
in their society will come = more samosa's = more sales! :D
all they want to know now is where and when? has anyone booked the park
village and hothouse yet? btw i still think parkvillage is a better
venue becuase it has a audio system so music can b sorted, also it has
nice comfy chairs! and obviously drinks! which are perefect for a shisha
night!

yea i guess its a good idea for sunny to go to the airport when a lot
of ppl are coming together...and someone can behere in brigthon to
recieve them as well...shriansh?...
50 p for shisha is ok....and all of them are welcome...im part of the
shisha society myself.....about park village....we meant the fmaily
lounge which s close to the cocktail lounge...booking the lounge itsel
might cost money and also aint big enuf for the both of
us :D....hehe..i mean both scieties........micheal (activities) said
that its possible that smoking isnt allowed in he fmaily room....he
suggested the eating hall type thing of flamer bar...u know the back
room at flamer which is a restaurant by day and night club by
night...hehe...sound system there..smoking is a go ahead...and they
cant stop us eating out food cuz they odnt serve at night anyway....i
guess we can find out if w need to actually book that room or just
show up there..and well drinks available there too...hothouse shall be
booked on monday...
