青年成就:“未来城市,绿色畅想”的活动 / Junior Achievement: “Junior Achiever Green Innovation Challenge”

前星期六九月十八日,许许多多的美国馆员工人,学生大使和小孩子在中国福会少年宫少年厅参加了青年成就的活动。经过轻微的延迟,有一些贵宾从青年成就,美国商会和主旨演讲者陶氏化学发了演说。

最好玩的是孩子们开始介绍他们造的产品的部分,主要目标就是吸引“投资者”给他们票子为支持。受到最多的票的小组会赢,像我的小组-加油加油!孩子们真的很乖巧。有一些小孩子走来走去,想吸引人买产品,用自己做的贴纸和名片为推广。如果这个方式不成功,他们就导致投资者到摊子随之而来就开始介绍产品。所有的孩子都表现出了高程度的创新, 我觉得最好的小组是那些带原型,比如碳过滤水的饮料瓶。

后来孩子们回大厅,发精心排练的产品介绍。许多小组介绍的特别好,我最喜欢那些醒目的推广歌和丰富多彩的道具。

最后一个部分是“小CEO”面试,贵宾问小组领导(CEO)问题。在这个部分我有一点心痛,我的小组的CEO唯一的用英语来回答,因此他的回答没有不其他的好,也没有呢么详细。我还为我的小组感到骄傲,给他们“high five”他们会到座位时候。

结束时,组织者发了奖,照了相和欢呼了!

Junior Achievement: “Junior Achiever Green Innovation Challenge”

Several USA Pavilion staff and student ambassadors volunteered to participate in the 2010 Shanghai Junior Achievement competition. This past Saturday, September 18, we and scores of children descended upon the Children’s Palace in downtown Shanghai for the final event. After a slight delay, the competition began with speeches from some of our visiting VIPs from JA, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and our keynote speaker from Dow Chemical.

Then the real fun began when the children began to pitch their product to the attending visitors. The goal was to attract “investors” who would pledge their support through a ticket. The group with the most tickets would eventually win, just as my own group of mentees did—go team! Ridiculous levels of cuteness ensued. Some kids would prowl the aisle looking for some fresh meat that they would try to entice to come to their booths with stickers and self-made business cards advertising the goods. If that didn’t work, they would simply grab a hand and pull one over, after which the spiel would begin. All the children demonstrated a great degree of creativity, and I was most impressed with those that had brought along an actual working prototype such as the carbon-filtered water purifier made from soda bottles.

The kids then returned to the auditorium and gave their carefully rehearsed presentations. Many of the groups displayed real talent in making their skits expressive and humorous. Everyone did a great job at representing their products to the audience. My favorites were those that featured catchy jingles and colorful props.

The last segment of the competition was the “Little CEO” interviews, in which a panel of VIP guests asked questions to the team leaders (CEOs). This portion was a little heartbreaking for me because my own team’s CEO was the only student that attempted to give his answers in English. However, he had a lot of difficulty in doing so, and, as a result, his response was not as detailed as his peers’. But I am proud of him for making the effort, and I gave high-fives to him and his teammates as they returned to their seats.

In the end, the organizers handed out awards to the various teams, pictures were taken, and everyone cheered!

Each day the Student Ambassadors of the USA Pavilion greet thousands of visitors from all around the world, from local Shanghai-“ren” to European tourists and day-in, day-out, share with these guests a vision of the Unites States and of the American Spirit. After one-hundred days of Expo, our Student Ambassadors are well-versed in answering any questions about America and are always have one or two Chinese jokes up their sleeves. But what do these Ambassadors do on their days off when not standing on chairs talking about America to thousands of visitors? They become Expo visitors themselves!

The Student Ambassador Blog series follows some of our own as they reverse their roles and dive into the world of Expo. What is the best pavilion to trade pins at? “在中国,为中国”–参观通用电气公司的科技园 / “In China, for China” A Visit to the GE Technology Park

美国馆的全球赞助商通用电气公司在九月一和三日,亲切的请了学生大使和员工去参观它2008年建造的六十万平方米的中国研究与发展,在中国科技园里。这设施是全球通用电气公司中部最新和最广大的。通用电气公司 已在中国发展了一百多年, 忠诚的想把中国成为第二个家,公司哲学是,“在中国,为中国。”

在第一层有些陈列是从通用电气公司2008年偶运会的,展览关于新型的解决方案,为了中国的发展挑战。 陈列的总体主题是关于需要的创想来开发交替能源。在游览中,通用电气公司不断的在敲掉它们的责任和奉献精神,以寻找如混合动力,生物气体,风能和水可再生能源,而持有环保的高标准。

Student Ambassadors: Annie Liu & Stephanie Popp

On September 1st and September 3rd, our global sponsor General Electric graciously invited a group of Student Ambassadors and USA Pavilion Staff to tour their GE China R&D Center located in China Technology Park. The facilities were built in 2008, of a total gross area of 60,000 square meters and are the newest and largest GE headquarters in the world. GE has been in China for over a century and is committed to making China its second home. The philosophy of GE in China is “In China, for China.”

On the first floor, there are several displays from GE’s 2008 Beijing Olympics showcase, which addresses innovative solutions to China’s growth challenges. The theme is on the creativity needed to develop technologies to find alternative resources for a future where natural resources are limited. Throughout the tour, GE continuously stressed their corporate social responsibility and dedication to finding renewable energy sources, such as hybrid power, biogas, wind and water – while holding high standards for environmental protection.

In the lobby area, there was a display that showed in-depth hybrid technology for engines in trains and other large equipment, such as freight trains and ships. GE has renovated their technology to capture energy that would otherwise be lost while braking and stored it in an internal battery. GE’s hybrid engine is currently used in the Beijing-Tibet Railway because it is the only engine that can withstand the harsh weather conditions in Tibet.

At every moment, someone in the world is using some form of GE healthcare equipment. This statistic demonstrates the large impact GE has upon the health industry. GE’s focus in China is providing high quality products to less developed areas where budget and resources are limited. GE was the first company to introduce a CT scan in China and is dedicated to developing other types of affordable medical equipment suited to the Chinese market.

The most entertaining display is the touch-screen interactive game, which showcased GE’s technology in ways simple enough for a child to understand. There is one game that explains how cow and chicken waste is transformed into biogas, while utilizing limited resources to grow food to feed farm animals. Ultimately, the animal wastes are collected to produce biogas. A second game demonstrates GE’s new clean coal technology where the player mixes coal and oxygen to produce a different type of gas and the player has to clean the gas before it can be used.

Two interesting facts we learned on the GE tour was that GE owns a large portion of CNBC, and, that despite the fact that GE appliances are not very profitable, GE keeps its appliances line in order to help connect themselves with the consumers and build their household brand name.

At the end of the tour, GE treated us to a fabulous Chinese-style lunch and had a high level executive come to speak to us. Overall, the tour left us with the impression that GE takes their corporate social responsibility very seriously and is effectively working towards sustainable development in China. We very much appreciate the sponsorship of such an innovative and conscientious company.

俄罗斯馆

今天很荣幸与阳光海川学校的学生一起参观俄罗斯馆.孩子们都感到很高兴有这个特别的机会在“Community Outreach Kiddie Corner Day” (有没有固定翻译)可以参观到美国馆和其他世博馆。尤其是俄罗斯馆的外观那面全白色的墙显得格外的壮观和屋顶上更有他独特风味的金属设计感。当我们一起参观本馆的时候, 孩子们都感到很新奇像进入”爱莉丝梦遊仙境”的世界. 穿梭 在紫色仙境的灯光中有巨大的树,富有生命色彩的花和水果以及出乎意料之外的蟲子,形成一场不可思议的情景。此外,俄罗斯馆一直有著特殊极小的展览陈列, 必须用显微镜才能够看得清楚。 整体之下,参观俄罗斯馆对孩子们而言有如梦幻般之。

英国馆

在进入英国馆之前, 我马上被它独特的外观所吸引。馆外一根根的棒子,很有别以往的设计风格. 进入馆内,里面种子教堂般的情景,我才知道“全馆是由60,000根棒子所组成,每根里面都藏有著一颗有机种子,都是从昆明植物研究所来的。”当阳光从外面照射进来,种子在教堂内散发出惊人的效果和引人注目的光线是让我参观世博至今有身难忘的体验.

日本馆

日本馆的设计构想来自于日本的漫画影片,紫色膜和交错複杂的天线看起来像个巨大的生物体。虽然排队进入日本馆的大排长龙,但这趟的参观一切都值得了。除了绿色科技的展览,包括非田Prius的混合电动技术,两场表演是本馆吸引力的关键。第一场表演介绍一户日本的家庭利用身体的运动和接触控制日常生活用品,比如把视频技术整合进他们的家庭。随着故事的发展,更多的技术被展示出来,比如可驾驶的扶手椅和用来捕捉在场观众想象画面的未来摄像机。最后,但却是最让人难以置信的表演,一个生活化的机器人走上舞台演奏小提琴。第二场从先进科技演示转换到舞台剧“朱鹮传说”表演,这个舞台剧是根据1999年中国赠送给日本的一对朱鹮的背景上改编的。这个表演非常令人感动并且升华日本馆的主题。

墨西哥馆

当你走进墨西哥馆的时候,好像没有任何明显的入口标志。事实上,墨西哥馆是在地下的!墨西馆的外观,在一个绿色草坪上面拥有很多白色的杆子。每一根上面挂着红色黄色紫色或者白色的风筝,成为本馆所谓的”风筝森林”。许多游客在风筝森林下面休息,它为上海炎热潮湿的夏天提供了乘凉的地方。确切地说,这公开区域即是墨西哥馆的屋顶又是一个供游客休息和放松的公共场所。进入馆内,互动触摸屏展示墨西哥的文化和历史。面具的展示是我最喜欢墨西哥馆的一部份。 每一个面具都象徵著墨西哥人的文化, 有如国王或恶魔。 在每一个面具的背後, 参观者(遊客)可以观赏到影片有关於墨西哥许多不同观点的看法。例如,人们可以透过眼睛看见墨西哥的球员,出租车的司机, 舞者或旅遊。根据你所戴的面具,你会看见墨西哥有它独特的一面。

Russia Pavilion

Today I had the privilege to tour the Russia Pavilion with local Chinese students from the Yangguang Haichun School (阳光海川学校). The kids enjoyed a special visit to the USA National Pavilion and the Expo as part of our Community Outreach department’s Kiddie Corner Day. The Russian Pavilion’s exterior was very impressive with towering white and gold walls, embellished atop with ornamental designs. As we toured the pavilion, the kids became very excited and happy to enter a new world very much resembling a world from “Alice in Wonderland.” Giant trees, flowers, fruits, and strange bugs all amidst a floral background and purple lighting created a strange yet magical environment. Moreover, the Russia Pavilion holds a special exhibit showcasing extremely tiny ornaments—so little that a microscope is required to see it clearly. Overall, the Russia Pavilion was aesthetically pleasing, both inside and out, and I was very happy to see the children enjoying themselves in the dreamlike environment.

UK Pavilion

Before entering the UK Pavilion, I was immediately captivated by the pavilion’s unique design. The exterior is entirely covered with protruding, transparent rods which give the pavilion a unique and organic look. Upon entering the pavilion, which is also called The Seed Cathedral, I learned that “each one of the 60,000 acrylic rods in the chamber holds seeds, provided by Kunming Institute of Botany.” At the end of each acrylic rod is a different kind of seed, illuminated by the incoming light from the outside. The effect is a stunning silhouette display of seed diversity. The Seed Cathedral is by far one of the most striking and memorable displays I have seen at the Expo thus far.

Japan Pavilion

The design of the Japan Pavilion resembles something straight out of a Japanese anime. The purple membrane and antennae design make this pavilion look like a giant living organism. Despite the Japan Pavilion’s notoriously long queues, my visit to the pavilion was well worth the wait. In addition to displays of green technology, including the Toyota Prius electric-hybrid technology, the pavilion’s two shows were definitely the key attractions here. The first show introduces the audience to a Japanese family using technology controlled by body movements and touch, such as real-time video calling, integrated into their homes. As the story continues, more technology is showcased, such as drivable armchair and futuristic cameras, which captures images of audience members in the room. Lastly, a life-size robot walks onto the stage and plays the violin.

The second performance moves away from technological displays and features an operatic performance entitled “The Tale of the Crested Ibis” based on a pair of crested ibises given to Japan from China in 1999. The show is very touching and promotes the Japan Pavilion’s theme of coming together, or lian jie (聯接).

Mexico Pavilion

As you walk up to the Mexico pavilion, there doesn’t seem to be an entrance in sight. The Mexico Pavilion is actually underground! A sloping green lawn dotted with polls stretches across the outside of the pavilion. Atop each pole is a red, yellow, purple or white “kite,” creating the pavilion’s “Kite Forest.” Many visitors to the pavilion can be seen resting under the kites, which provide much needed shade in Shanghai’s hot, humid summer weather. Inside the pavilion are showcases and interactive touch-screens of Mexican history. My favorite part of the pavilion was the display of masks. Each mask is decorated to represent Mexican people or cultural figures, such as a king or a demon. In the back of each mask, visitors can watch short film clips of Mexico from many different points of view. For instance, one can see Mexico through the eyes of a Mexican Mariachi player, taxi driver, dancer or tourist. Depending on which mask you wear, you will see Mexico from a different person’s perspective.

好吧,那我就直认了! 当我第一次看到那映照着鲜蓝色和白色的外墙和外观犹如篮子一般的哈萨克斯坦馆,我的脑海里立刻开始引述波拉特(Borat)的话。有点儿幼稚吧,我知道,但我不可能是唯一一个美国人会这样做。对于许多美国人来说,波拉特是他们第一次也是唯一一次听到这小欧亚国家,对其文化的认识更不用话下。因此,正当波拉特在我的脑海里浮游之际,我就去了哈萨克馆那儿排队了。

我对哈萨克馆的第一个印象是态度何其友好的工作人员。在快速通道工作的代表立即对我问好,又告诉我哪儿是最好的站处让我能赶上馆内的空调。当门一打开,就有三位导游上前欢迎我并带我通过以冰屋为主题的入口。我的导游非常兴致勃勃和自豪地传授我有关她国家和家乡,阿斯塔纳的知识。我观察到一些哈萨克文化别竖一格的地方,就是它融合了亚洲和东欧文化的影响,这一切可以从阿斯塔纳的建筑而至哈萨克人的俄罗斯口音中看到和听到。我对他们员工对国家的热情留下深刻印象。他们是国家的真正代表,准备与他人分享他们的爱国主义精神。

我最喜欢的部分就是一间建有哈萨克斯坦雪景观模型的房间,房里面的温度也随着主题而下降。如果你需要一个地方“降温”的话,不用再远眺了,哈萨克斯坦馆就近在眼前。这个房间是如此寒冷,连里面的导游都是穿着一件大皮衣的!看完一段像 “ 300”那部电影的断片以后,他们有一舞蹈表演,并有机会把你的名字放上大屏幕。我也给他们的礼品店一个A+。店里摆放着许多传统民俗,看起来就好像是直接从阿斯塔纳的街头市场搬过来的。总体而言,我体验了一个无波拉特的哈萨克斯坦馆,感觉很好。就算是在世博会的第100天,所有工作人员都很友善和很有耐性。展馆里还有很多有趣的特色,其中一特就是它的空调!

Okay I’ll just go ahead and admit it, when I first saw the bright blue and white outside lights and basket-like exterior of the Kazakhstan pavilion, my mind immediately began to quote Borat. Immature, I know, but I cannot possibly be the only American who would do so. For many Americans it seems, Borat was the first and only time they even heard of the small Eurasian country, let alone learned about its culture. So with Borat in mind, I got into the Kazak line.

My first impression of the pavilion was how friendly the staff was. The representative working the fast-access line immediately asked me how I was doing and showed me the best place to stand in line so that I caught the air-conditioning breeze from inside. As soon as the doors opened, three tour guides welcomed me and brought me through the igloo-themed entrance. My guide was very excited and proud to teach me about her country and hometown, Astana. A remarkable observation about Kazakh culture is the blend of Eastern European and Asian influences in their culture, which can be seen in everything from the architecture in Astana to the Kazak’s Russian accents. I was really impressed with the staff’s enthusiasm for their country. They were true representatives, ready to share their patriotism with others.

My favorite part of the pavilion was an ice-cold room with models of Kazakh snow landscapes. If you need a place to, literally, “chill out” in this heat, look no further than Kazakhstan. The room was so cold that the guide inside wears a fur coat! After a “300” like animation movie, there is a dance performance and a chance to put your name up on the big-screen as a visitor. I give Kazakh an A+ for their gift shop, which stocks many traditional folk items that look straight out of Astana’s street markets. Overall, I had a great Borat-free experience in the Kazakhstan Pavilion. The staff was remarkably friendly and patient even in the 100th day of Expo and the pavilion had many interesting features— great air-conditioning for one!

上海莫干山路双城现代艺术馆:景点和声音 / Two Cities Art Gallery at Moganshan: Sights and Sounds

8月15日世博美国馆在莫干山路主办了特别的一个艺术活动。在活动中,美国艺术家汤姆·卡特(Tom Carter)和罗天瑞(Terence Lloren)在上海莫干山路双城现代艺术馆里展示了他们富有创意的艺术品。这个艺术馆的主题名很特别叫“两个城市”。“看中国”人们往往只认为中国是世界上人口最多的国家,的确是这样,但中国人也有不同的个性。15日下午两位美国艺术家用自己的视野将世界对中国的看法融合在一起。

美国艺术家卡特(Tom Carter)第一个上台介绍。他会经在中国大城市教英语,随后 TOM 背起背包拿着他的照相机来到中国的农村去发现中国城市以外的东西。经过两年的奔波和积累他终于制作了一部人物最多、表情最丰富、印象最深刻的摄影集。这本摄影集的名称:《中国:一个民族的肖像》。他走遍中国33个省,历尽千辛万苦,为了让世界人民了解一个真实的、全面的中国。在他的旅行中,用了最基本的中文和中国人交流去了解他们,发现这些人的个性。在卡特的每一张照片中,他通过他的摄影作品将肖像中的人物个性最大限度地表现出来。卡特鼓励参观者在他们走访中国各个方式去发现中国不同的侧面。

接着艺术家罗天瑞(Terence Lloren)为我们展示了他的音响艺术品。在他述说的同时我们耳边响起了我们在上海常常听到的声音。罗天瑞认为别人现有的“步行在上海街道”这个录音不真实,决定和个上海朋友重新录制“上海街道的声音”,让人们听到一个真正的上海声音。他们俩共同制作了一本有声音的书,书名很有亲和力《与上海一起成长》。通过音响效果,这本书还为我们介绍了一群上海年轻人的生活。从声音中我们可以感受到,无论是一幢旧楼倒塌还是淮海路上人们的窃窃私语,上海是在变化的。

最后,两位艺术家一起站到台上,回答了观众的提问也和观众一起分享了他们的体会。虽然他们做艺术品的方法很有差别,但目标是一致的: 那就是通过自己的作品展示人类不同的个性。他们鼓励观众通过世博这大好时机更深入地去了解自己居住的城市和国家。他们同时提醒我们“艺术像生活,不是单一的”。

Student Ambassdor: Kelsey Scribner

On August 15th, the USA Pavilion ventured beyond the Expo grounds to hold an event that transcended conventional impressions of art in China.  During the USAP’s showcase at the Two Cities Gallery in the Moganshan Road Art District, artists Tom Carter and Terence Lloren presented, through their respective mediums, a merger of individual experience and cultural continuities. As the world’s most populous nation, China is often caught somewhere between the masses and the lives of individuals.  Sunday afternoon brought insight into both.

Tom Carter was the first to take the stage.  After keeping a demanding schedule teaching English in urban China, Tom picked up his backpack and camera and set off to see the country.  He spent over two years traveling and documenting his experiences into what has become the largest compilation of images ever to be published on China entitled, China: Portrait of a People. During his travels he braved the cold and the unfamiliar to visit all of China’s 33 provinces.  Tom took a unique approach that championed experience over composition.  Each picture highlighted an individual who Tom got to know using his basic Chinese vocabulary.  Despite the many ups and downs of his travels, Tom had warm impressions of the hospitality and character of the people he encountered and encouraged his audience to embark on their own journeys to experience the diversity that could be found throughout China.

Just as we were all making plans to travel beyond Shanghai, Terence Lloren took the stage to unveil his latest audio project.  Common sounds of Shanghai played in the background as he explained how the idea for his project came to life. Terence was very disappointed with the quality of the “Shanghai sound walk”, an Expo advertisement for sightseeing in Shanghai. Terence found the sound walk to be more of a choreographed performance with precisely timed sound effects than an authentic experience of walking through Shanghai.  Enlisting the help from a native Shanghainese friend, Terence decided to embark on a project of his own, and the book and sound combination, Growing Up With Shanghai, was born.  Terence explained how incorporating a multi-dimensional element, like sound, could so deeply enhance the personal stories of a group of young Shanghai residents.  Whether he recorded in an old apartment building set for demolition, or walked the entirety of the popular Huaihai Street, Terence spoke about how he was able to convey the unique dynamism of growing up in a city that grows and changes with you.

At the end of their presentation, both artists stood on stage.  They fielded questions and shared anecdotes with an engaged crowd.  Though their mediums and perspectives were unique, their missions shared the common bond of showcasing the diversity and appreciating the value of the human experience.  Each implored the audience to take a deeper look at their host city and country during the Expo, and reminded us that art, like life, does not have to fit into any conventional form.

Every day the USA Pavilion’s staff greatest joy is to be able experience those memories that leave lasting impressions on our visitors. For example, it always a pleasure to see the happy faces of visitors when they finish watching the short film, “Urban Garden” and applaud. This is what we feel is the most rewarding about our jobs. We believe that every visitor will see that the pavilion embodies the American spirit: perseverance, innovation and community building. In just one and a half months, the Expo 2010 Shanghai will end.  What are your favorite USA Pavilion memories? Is it the smiles of our student ambassadors greeting you into the pavilion or maybe it was our National Day celebration in July?  Quite possibly, it was seeing the Rain, the cute girl in the “Urban Garden” short film and her neighbors working together to build a community garden. Maybe your fondest memory was simply the cute teddy bears in our gift shop.

想参观美国馆却又怕排队?想和泰迪小熊见面又怕挤破头?每天很多网友通过微博平台和我们交流着他们的心声,畅谈他们的观博感触。作为工作人员,我们深为感动并且由衷的希望能有更多来自五湖四海的朋友进馆和我们一同分享美国文化、一起感受美国精神。

不知不觉上海世博会已经要进行到最后的一个月了,从当初迎接到第100万名参观者的喜悦,到前些天第500万名参观者揭晓时的荣耀,在这近5个月的时间中我们被大家的热情深深感染也感到万分荣幸。在世博会最后一个月即将到来之际,我们也将会迎来第600万名参观者,而到世博会结束时,美国馆的访客总数将会超过700万名,为了回报大家对我们美国馆的持续关注,同时也希望能尽可能免去网友们排队等候的时间,即日起至10月31日美国馆和街旁网合作,重磅推出“美国馆手机签到活动”。现在你只需在世博现场掏出手机登陆街旁网上的“世博会美国馆”页面进行签到,就有机会携家人朋友经由绿色通道率先进入美国馆进行参观。

活动细则:

1. 活动时间:2010年9月27日-2010年10月31日;

2. 参与方式:

“因爱而生”有什么意思?/ What is the meaning of “Live to Love”?

在美国馆的第三个部分,我们每天有三千多个人参加强生的“用心献爱”游戏。按照我的学生大使的负责,我告诉游客怎么参加游戏和游戏的意思。强生“用心献爱”是一个好玩的和社交的游戏。参加者将在玩游戏的时候结识新朋友和分享“关爱”的想法 . 游客用他们自己的手机,发送一封短信到强生的电话号码。然后,强生会发送回复给游客解释世博关爱项目。参加了以后,我们学生大使会给游客免费的小礼物叫“Stevie.”大部分的人真的想拿到这个礼物,但是对我来说,强生“用心献爱”的游戏表达很好的机会,游客可以跟理解关爱项目。

那个游戏跟强生的社会责任意识有很密切的关系。在强生的手机网址 http://wap.jnjexpo.cn/home.htm , 游客可以投票一个强生世博关爱项目获得免费游戏下载,有机会赢取强生大礼包.  强生世博关爱项目包括四个方面:疾病预防与教育,疾病预防与教育,提高医疗卫生水平,履行社区责任。每一个方面表达“因爱而生”的意思。

In Act III of the USA Pavilion, every day we have over 3000 guests participate in Johnson & Johnson’s “Caregivers” game.  As a student ambassador, I tell our guest how they can participate in the game, what the game means, and what they receive for participating in our game.  Johnson & Johnson’s “Care Givers” is definitely an entertaining and social game. The idea behind it is that participants will play in the game to get to know new friends and spread the love.  To participate, our guests use their cell phones and send a text message to Johnson & Johnson.  Afterwards, Johnson & Johnson sends our guests a text message that includes an introduction to Johnson & Johnson’s Expo Care Projects.  After our guests participate, they receive a small, free gift from Johnson & Johnson.  This little gift is called a “Stevie.”  It seems that most of the guests are mainly interested in the gift we give out at the end of the game, but to me, Johnson & Johnson’s “Caregivers” game represents a very good opportunity for USA Pavilion’s guests to learn more about Johnson & Johnson’s Care Projects.

The “Caregivers” game shares a very close relationship to Johnson & Johnson’s sense of social responsibility.  On the Johnson & Johnson’s website (http://wap.jnjexpo.cn/home.htm), guests can vote for vote on their favorite Expo Care Project for free game downloads, and a chance to win a big gift Johnson & Johnson’s.  Johnson & Johnson’s Expo Cares Projects include four projects:  the health care of women and children, disease prevention and education, raising the levels of medicine and health in China, and fulfilling community responsibilities.  Every aspect represents the meaning of “Live to Love.”
