Anna Sui 参观访问了美国馆 / Anna Sui Pays a Visit to the USA Pavilion Posted: 12 Jul 2010 02:38 AM PDT 拥抱梦想，拥抱挑战 国际顶尖时尚设计师ANNA SUI女士今天来到上海世博会美国馆参观，这里独特的屋顶花园及外墙景观，令这位热爱旅行，并对室内设计也颇有心得的时装大师赞叹不已。 Anna是华裔美籍，而她的母亲恰好就是上海人，这也令Anna从小就对上海这座城市有着一种独特的感情。而此次到访上海，Anna最大的心愿莫过于参观世博会，在母亲生活的城市中体会不同国度的文化交融。谈到美国馆的主题“拥抱挑战”时，Anna也跟大家分享了自己的故事，其实她本人的经历就是典型的美国式成功故事。她曾说过：“你必须追随自己的梦想，即使它们看上去不切实际。”而能够让一个来自底特律郊区的年轻女孩在世界时尚舞台上闯出自己的一片天。 Living Out Your Dreams, Rising to the Challenge Anna Sui, top fashion designer, visited the USA pavilion at the Expo 2010 Shanghai today. Sui who is an avid traveler and an experienced interior designer was amazed by USA Pavilion’s roof garden and unique exterior design. Sui, a Chinese American, has always held a special place for Shanghai since her mother is originally from Shanghai. Sui’s biggest wish was to come to Shanghai to visit the Expo and experience the cultural fusion of the different nations in the city where her mother grew up. In line with the theme of the USA pavilion, “Rising to the Challenge”, Sui shares her own classic American success story. She once said, “You have to focus on your dreams, even if they go beyond common sense.”  Sui’s courage to overcome challenges has transformed this young girl from the suburbs of Detroit into an international success. 社区公益活动：闵行区民工小学奋发小学刷墙活动 / Community Outreach Project: Minhang District Migrant School Painting Posted: 16 Jul 2010 12:06 AM PDT 学生大使：阮立夫 这周，美国馆的社会公益活动小组为我们学生大使们组织了一个独特的服务经历。在长达3天的时间里，我们学生大使和其他的美国馆工作人员们带领了一个上海本地的移民学校并且和他们一起展开了一场绘画活动。我和美国馆的其他二十几名成员一起参加了第二天的活动。我们都是乘包租的汽车来到了活动现场，并且在9：45的时候到达。在到达后，我们的组长给我们分发了工作服，画轴和白色颜料桶，我们每个人都充满渴望的去工作了。在这天与孩子们玩以及吃东西的休息时间，我们小组发起了一项挑战，结束六间房间的粉刷以及开始粉刷外面的过道。能和每一位志愿者一起工作真是一种特权，不仅仅是因为我们可以完成很多，更多的是我们会从中间获得许多乐趣！在这一天里空气中都充满着激情与活力。我能在工作中感受到美国精神。希望我们都能够尽快的回去并且能很快的结束“工程”。我要对这周给过这个活动所有帮助的人说一声谢谢，我相信那些孩子们一定也想对你们说一声谢谢。 Student Ambassador: Cliff Brannan This week, the USA Pavilion Community Outreach team organized a unique community service experience for our student ambassadors. Over the course of three days, groups of student ambassadors and other USAP employees headed to a local Shanghai migrant school to give it a fresh coat of paint. I joined the team on the second day of work at the school with over twenty of my coworkers at USAP. We all took a chartered bus in the morning and got to the site around 9:45am. Upon arriving, the team leaders handed out smocks, paint rollers and buckets of white paint and we eagerly got to work. Over the course of the day, with breaks in between to play with the remaining kids or grab a bite to eat, our team rose to the challenge and finished painting six rooms and started painting the hallway outside. It really was a privilege to work with everyone who volunteered; not only did we get a lot done and were really efficient but it was also tons of fun! There was a consistent air throughout the day of enthusiasm and energy. I could feel the American spirit at work. Hopefully we can all head back soon and see the finished product! A big thank you to all who helped out at the school this week and I’m sure the kids say thank you too!

美国国家馆有奖摄影征集活动 / Photo Contest for the USA Pavilion: Submit Now! 美国国家馆喜迎第300万名参观者 / USA Pavilion Welcomes Three Millionth Visitor Posted: 18 Jul 2010 10:45 PM PDT 【2010年7月19日上海】开幕仅80天的2010年上海世博会美国国家馆今天宣布，进入美国馆参观的游客人数今天已突破300万大关。 第300万名幸运游客是来自浙江省绍兴市的蔡志平和王向娟夫妇。他们在美国馆外舞台意外地获得了美国国家馆总裁兼首席执行官马文涛先生的欢迎，并获得了美国馆水晶模型，美国馆纪念金币等礼物。今天是这对70岁的老夫妇第一次参观世博会。 美国馆总代表费乐友大使（José H. Villarreal）表示：“我为我们在80天里取得的成绩深感自豪。在这段日子里，我们迎接来来自中国和世界各地络绎不绝的游客和贵宾，包括中国国家主席胡锦涛先生、美国国务卿希拉里•克林顿女士和前国务卿奥尔布赖特女士。今天我们在此迎接第300万名游客，是继7月2日我们庆祝美国国家馆日以来又一个重要的里程碑。我们期待着款待更多嘉宾和朋友，与你们分享美国精神。” 作为2010年上海世博会最受观众欢迎的展馆之一，美国馆正保持着日均42000人次的游客接待量。预计整个世博会期间美国馆的参观者总数将逾600万。 [SHANGHAI, 19 July 2010] – The USA Pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai welcomed its three millionth visitor today, only 80 days after it opened doors on May 1. As the three millionth visitor to the USA Pavilion, a couple from Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, Mr. Cai Zhiping and Ms. Wang Xiangjuan, received a crystal USA Pavilion model, a USA Pavilion special gold coin and other pavilion memorabilia. The 70-year-old couple was welcomed by Mr. Martin Alintuck, President and CEO of the USA Pavilion at the stage in front of the pavilion. This is their first visit to the Expo. “I am very proud of what we have accomplished in the past 80 days,” said Ambassador José H. Villarreal, U.S. Commissioner General. “During this span, we have greeted visitors and dignitaries from across China and around the world– including Chinese President Hu Jintao, U.S. Secretary Clinton and former U.S. Secretary Albright, among others. Today’s marking of our three millionth visitors is another important milestone after we celebrated our Pavilion Day on July 2. We look forward to sharing the American spirit and warm hospitality with more visitors and friends.” Being one of the most popular pavilions at Expo 2010, the USA Pavilion has kept a momentum of accommodating 42,000 visitors per day, and is expected to receive more than six million guests over the entire duration of the Expo.
