Sayyiduna Abu Dhar ( radi Allahu anhu ) narrates

that Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said (to Abu Dhar):

Make the recitation of the Quran and the Dhikr of Allah,

The Mighty and The Exalted,

obligatory on yourself,

because it is indeed, a remembrance for you in the heavens

and a light (guidance) for you on the earth.
