Iam using the Intel Visual Fortran 2017 update 2 compiler to generate an application called "Solver64.exe" that gets shipped to our clients. It is working fine for most of the clients but a few of them are reporting an error message "The ordinal 747 could not be located in the dynamic link library Solver64.exe".
We know that this is caused by Windows locating and using an Intel Fortran redistributable library that is incompatible with the Intel Fortran 2017 update 2 compiler we have used. The incompatible redist has been installed by some other application in a different folder to where our redist gets installed. The problem is that Windows seems to have some haphazard way of finding redistributables and simply uses the first one that it finds, regardless of where it is and whether it's compatible or not. Is there any way to control this so that the correct redistributable for our application always gets used?

Unfortunately, it isn't too hard to find examples of both, from vendors that really should know better. Obliterating the offending DLLs is the most practical solution (particularly for the first sort - for the second sort you can reorder the system path) I am aware of, but it can be difficult to arrange/explain that in controlled IT environments.

My client is receiving the error "The ordinal 113 could not be located in the dynamic link library PIXMDLN.dll" when attempting to scan in laserfiche. They get the error in both TWAIN and ScanConnect engines. Multiple users receive the error under different lf accounts and windows accounts. We have tried a repair of drivers and laserfiche but nothing works. Looking up the dll online tells me that it has to do with adobe acrobat, but I made sure that adobe acrobat reader is installed. They are on version 10.1.0.151 and using a Canon Dr-3010C.
I have Windows 10 Pro. I download the latest FMS Data Manager v 1.8.5.1105 (23 Dec 2020) and installed it. After rebooting and opening the FMS Data Manager I receive a pop-up stating - ordinal 4540 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\Navigraph\FMS Data Manager\ssleay32.dll - Then I click the close button - The interface appears - and nothing is populated inside the program interface. Just a clean interface appears.
Oddly enough, the file ssleay32.dll can be found in the C:\Program Files\Navigraph\Simlink Folder so I do not have an issue with downloading ssleay32.dll (at least not with the Navigraph Simlink program).
I do not think that I can simply copy and paste the ssleay32.dll located at C:\Program Files\Navigraph\Simlink because if it is installed at the C:\Program Files location that is a 64-bit DLL and copying it to the C:\Program Files (x86) location which is a folder for a 32-bit DLL file will not function properly.
The opposite being true for the 64-bit DLL found in the C:\Program Files\Navigraph\Simlink folder the 64-bit DLL would be copied (both in the C:\Program Files\Navigraph\Simlink folder and the C:\Windows\System32 folder).
Is there any way, or anywhere, that I can go to download the 32-bit version of ssleay32.dll (that you use) and install it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Navigraph\FMS Data Manager folder and the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder to get FMS Data Manager working properly?
I contacted Sophos Technical Support for Endpoint and they assisted with creating exclusions for the FMS Data Manager Program in separate areas: Program File (x86) and the folder in C:\ProgramData\Navigraph\FMSClient locations but still no joy.
9 times out of 14.5 when I load windows from a cold boot I get a window popup that states there is an error regarding DO and missing ordinal 380(?). The wording is "the ordinal 380 could not be located" but I can't remember the DLL its referring to, I can make a screen shot the next time I get the popup. I want to think I mistakenly deleted a temp file or something of the like that the program refers to, but I'm not known for incredibly accurate assumptions.
As far as I can tell, the program works 100% fine even after I get the popup, so mostly this is just vanity and wanting not to see the window appear anymore. The impact it has upon my aesthetically pleasing desktop is distressing lol.
I've searched the Goog regarding this popup and other programs that have returned a similar error do so when they can't find a VisuallC++ install file or something of the like.
With what limited information I have provided, is there someone out there that knows what the hell I'm talking about, and even more unlikely - can give me a hint on how to fix it? Thank you to the wizards of DO for everything I continue to make difficult
The last one mentions that renaming the directory the exe is in fixed things. Which isn't what I'd recommend with Opus (it'll break all the paths pointing to it in the registry), but does imply that Windows is storing or caching some kind of incorrect information somewhere about the exe/path.
When I updated to .50 v13 you just released, I was hoping it would go away, but it persists. Perhaps a complete uninstall and reinstall like you are saying. Do you think If I did a full backup and reapplied the backup to the fresh install it would cause this error to occur again?
If it only happens on boot up that suggests it's caused by something else that runs on start up. If you want to investigate it you could try using Task Manager to disable all the startup programs and then progressively reenable them to see if you can find the culprit.
When I try to launch the oculus app, it says "The ordinal 345 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-client\OculusClient.exe." I tried repairing and reinstalling oculus but it still shows that message! Any fixes? I'm on windows 11
Hey there, @drenixx. We understand how concerning it would be to run into this issue and not be able to use your headset for PC VR games, and we'd be glad to help out. Try out the following steps for a full and clean reinstallation, this will also reinstall any and all residual files.
I'm SUPER sorry for being 3 weeks late, I kind of forgot about this. I rebooted into safe mode and deleted every oculus folder. I reinstalled the Oculus app on the installer. It still says "The ordinal 345 could not be located in the dynamic link library." What the hell is going on?
Hey there! Nice to hear back from you! No need to apologize. We were wondering what software version your device is and update the app is? We highly recommend submitting a bug report as well and mostly need to get you into our Pm's soon!

Samsung Switch fails to run on my Windows 10 PC: After installation (without error) it reports this error on start up: SmartSwitchPC.exe - Ordinal Not Found; The ordinal 12404 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\program files (x86)\Samsung\Smart Switch PC\SmartSwitchPC.exe. It works on another PC! Per Samsung Support I tried another browser, clearing cache etc, but nothing helps.
@Members_TdLY84P: Do you have a Windows laptop, or a Mac? For Windows laptops, have you installed Microsoft C++, as per the advice offered by @CodeFox ? If so, what happens when you attempt to launch Smart Switch?
I'm trying to perform analysis on survey responses with a Likert score (ordinal) as an outcome variable. Each participant answered multiple surveys so I need to control for random effects at the participant level. My understanding is that older versions of Jmp could not handle ordinal mixed effects models. Thread here to that effect.
Sorry. It is correct that JMP Pro 16 does not support mixed models with ordinal responses. I understand that adding Generalized Linear Mixed Models capabilities has been a very popular request. So hopefully you will see this in a future version of JMP or JMP Pro.
When trying to launch the new version of Teams, I received the following error message: "The ordinal 380 could not be located in the DLL C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_23272.2707.2453.769_x64_8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe". Can anyone help me with this error message? Thank you in advance.
I am checking the status of this case. Please let us know if you would like further assistance.
Meanwhile, if the reply is helpful to you, please try to mark it as an answer to help others who encounter the same issue and read this thread.
Thank you for your understanding and patience!
We operate in a dynamic virtual environment, which I deployed the new Teams to as a clean install, no updating from classic Teams. In order to reinstall and test I will have to wait until the next recompose.
A reinstall of the software resolved this specific issue. Now the Teams window randomly pops to the forefront of my desktop and takes control, but I'll open a new ticket if I want to chase that one, I'm hoping future updates will resolve it.
Bonjour! So, i have been having problems with xdlive.dll but now that is no longer a problem. Its the annoying "The ordinal 5360 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\common\Fallout 3 goty\falloyt3.exe." Is there any proper fix for this? A mod or a method? Anything helps!
