The hard fought battle between Dr. Alphonsus Okpara and Sir Chris Iwuanyanwu saw a sweeping, decisive mandate for new chairman, Dr. Alphonsus Okpara 1st vice chairman Dr. Billy Obiefule; 2nd vice-chairman: Obinna Ujari secretary: Emma Onwukamuche Financial secretary: Hyacinth Ikegbunam 1st Social welfare officer Alphonsus Keke Chief Social welfare officer: Bon Ikwuagwu PRO Josiah Uwaezuoke Assistant treasurer: Hyginus Osondu Chief of protocol Bright Nwokocha Housemaster is Cornelius Nwokenaka. Prof. Chris Ulasi served as chairman of the electoral committee alongside Prof. Godson Osuji, Charles Obioma, Tina Eziefule, Edith Ekechi, Adolph Obilor and Mark Dike. USAfrica and CLASSmagazine, as usual, were the only media platforms that covered the historic and factually contentious election. The outgoing chairman Dr. Vincent Nwabeke told USAfrica's Publisher Chido Nwangwu in an exclusive chat at the election venue that "my position is that no matter the outcome of this election, we should all have the club moving forward as one. There's no singular winner but the club has won." USAfrica confirms it was a very peaceful and transparent voting process. |
