Promoters,
In the last week I’ve had to deal with two promoters posting flyers with errors before final approval. Please read rule 1E2 and note where it says up to $500 penalty for publication without approval. I don’t want to have to enforce this rule but I will if this continues. Please get your race flyer to me early so I have time to go over it.

Hopefully constructive criticism,

I don't want to fine anybody but I also don't want to spend most of my time
answering emails about problems on flyers that have not been approved, like
I was doing last week. I'm self-employed and I can't spend all of my
billable hours taking care of USAC & NMBRA business. Remember, I don't get
paid for doing this, I'm doing it because I love this sport and I want to
see cycling grow in New Mexico.
All I am asking is that instead of waiting until the last minute promoters
get their flyers to me early so I can look them over before they are posted.
If I ask for corrections to be made send me the corrected version and we
start the process over. Don't post the flyer until we have it right.

Dave,
If not I’ll start working on one.

Correct me how things have changed here, but the USAC rep has been a
paid position, granted not much, but also included a proration based
on the number of licensed riders in their jurisdiction.
Disirregardless*, a huge amount of patience is needed in your position
now like the position I assumed for most of 11 years. Yes, patience
easily wears thin, but when it's gone, so is the growth of bicycle
racing in NM.

then please just ask this, please don't threaten anyone. You threaten
me and I'll retaliate. Stupid rules just bring out the irrationality
in all of us. Which is exactly the wrong thing that needs to happen
here in NM racing now.
Thanks for the reply and your response to good ol' Halliburton,

* almost eveyone seems to use 'irregardless' when they mean
'regardless' so I like to play with that word.

Cliff,
I meant that as a warning and not a threat. What happens if instead of complaining to me about a flyer somebody complains directly to Colorado Springs? Just like officiating a lot happens out on the road that the CR never hears about because we handle it ourselves.
As far as I know that money is what is coming back to NMBRA. Maybe in a larger state the rep gets paid but remember in your words we are in podunk New Mexico.
On a brighter note membership is up, we are currently at 240 USAC Road Licenses and that is probably not including what has been sold the last tow weekends.

Rule 1E pretty much covers it. We have to look for the declaration “Held under USA Cycling event permit”, that dates and locations of all races in the event match the permit, classes and categories eligible for each race, the specific kinds of event, distances, total amount of the prize list, nature of prizes (cash or merchandise), the number of that will receive prizes, amount of entry fee, surcharges if any, order of events, starting time of first event, entry closing date, registration closing time, min/max field size and plans for cancellation or postponement.
