There was much input and back and forth by several promoters and many racers. A multitude possibilities were proposed, considered and revised or abandoned. In the end, it all isn't really much different than what was in place and working just fine a couple of years back.
Only the promoters listed on the series outline have definitively stated that they want to join in this type of series. I am unaware of other promoters organizing a different series.
If a promoter thinks this format works for their event and would like to opt-in, just let us know.
Now that Hillsboro is done, we are working to get those results prepped to report in this format.
For the series to work, promoters must be able to provide results that conform to the series format.
This also requires some help and cooperation from the racers to help the promoters get it done.
Things like:
registering prior to the morning of the event;
picking up the packet and number early;
if using an annual license, taking care of license business prior to race day;
have your license at check in so they can accurately get your number and racing category;
pinning your number on so it can be read as you streak across the line at 20-30+ mph;
hanging out in the rollout zone (but not on the race course) for just a bit in case they didn't get your number at the finish
are all invaluable to help a promoter and officials run an organized race and generate timely and accurate results. Timely and accurate results mean you can quickly see how you did, get your winnings (if any) and hit the road. Now, wouldn't that be nice?
