Question about "Set up/Tear down date fee" on USAC event app

Hey all,
What is "Set up/Tear down date fee ($25/day)" on USAC event
application?
This is a new fee on the event application and am confused as to what
the fee covers. All my volunteers at the race event do the majority of
the setup/tear down responsibilities/chores...
If I have a one day race event, do I need to pay this fee?

I don't know about this fee. In fact it seems a little odd. I recommend
you contact USAC directly in Colorado springs.

Mickey,

My understanding is that if you are going to be doing event and venue work (set up pre event and tear down post event) on days that are in addition to the actual race date AND you want insurance coverage for those dates, that fee would be for coverage on those additional days.

I just put in for my actual race day and do not worry about that fee.  So far, no problems.
