HI all,

The 24 member User Centered Design Group
in VERITAS Software India Pvt. Ltd. (Wholly owned subsidiary of , Symantec Corp. USA),
Pune, has come a long way. The group started 8 years back and has established itself as a
strategic contributor to various aspects of software product design including User Experience.
The group activities include Conceptualizing Software Products, User Research, UI design,
Visual Design and Usability Testing.

There are two open positions

1. Sr. User Interface(UI) Designer, Location - Pune

Education qualification - Industrial Design / Visual Communication / Software UI Design or related Design fields.
Work Experience - 4 - 6 Yrs in Software UI Design for Enterprise Software products / Web UI for products.

Job Description :

Helping Product Managers in preparing MRD ( Market Requirements Doc) by contributing from the user perspective.
Working on Product / Feature concepts based on the MRD
Based on the MRD and Product concepts developed preparing UI design concepts.
Translating UI design concepts to static / animated screen Mockups
Work with Visual designers for look and feel, product image & branding.
Coordinate with User Research and Usability Testing teams for the project requirements throughout the design cycle.
Coordinate with the Engineering team leads / GUI Managers for implementation feasibility and support design changes during implementation.
Interact with End Users and Customers as part of Customer Acceptance Programme for design validation and feedback. ( Usability Lab testing will not be part of the responsibility )

2. Sr. User Research Engineer / ( Sr. Human Factors Engineer ), Location - Pune
Education qualification - HCI / Human Factors / Cognitive Psychology or related fields.
Work Experience - 4 - 6 Yrs in User research.

Job description :

* Plans, develops and conducts user research
* Collects, analyzes and interprets user and user task data
* Writes reports and makes presentations
* Develops research strategy and long-range plans
* On Enterprise/Consumer products, web-sites and web applications
* At different points in product development, from gathering requirements, to working on concepts, mock-ups, prototypes, through running builds and already released products
* Works with minimal supervision on multiple projects, including projects with multiple phases over long time-spans (3 - 18 months)
* Understands and applies UCD principles, theories and concepts; works collaboratively with other UCD professionals; promotes user research throughout the company
