All laws  in the Christian world or the western world  perhaps emanate  from the Ten commandments as found in  the Bible 

The Catholic  Church  preaches with the Bible on one hand and Tradition on the other without  the Church we are told the Bible and Tradition  are Dead things the Church is a living Teacher.

Let me also state  that another name of the Catholic Church is the  Church of sinners.

Peter the Apostle  was a sinner but Jedus said to Peter on this Rock you would  build my Church.
