Manu Dibango's death is really sad news. Dibango remained one of the most creative musicians I always returned to (from my fascination with rumba and TPOK Jazz). Many of us from Cameroon love his classic Sango Yesu Kristo, as well as "Elie" and Nsi Sim ti"  live with us and are always an amazing reminder of Cameroon culture and Christianity. His  rendition of  "Elongi" ( and I can remember who did if first, I think Ekambi Brilliant)  is immortal. Dibango's sonic rendition "Biko" remains one of my favorite Biko songs.  Dibango's collaborations some of the greatest around the world remain unparalleled, not to talk of the fact that "Soul makossa" put African music on the map.

He rests in peace, but his life and music live with us.

Sincerely,

Elias
