Bimbo Esho is an entrepreneur and the Managing Director of Evergreen Musical Company Limited. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) in Anthropology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her passion for music dates back over 15 years. As a young undergraduate, she wrote her final year thesis on “Highlife Music in Nigeria,” a research study that took her on a musical odyssey across the length and breadth of Nigeria, documenting and researching the lives of various forgotten Nigerian music legends. Her innate passion, talent, and experiences also span a wide range of industries, including entertainment, fashion, and event management. She is the MD/CEO of Esho-Re, a clothing and branding company, and The Amuluduns, a 100% indigenous Event Management Company under her leadership.

Amiable, resourceful, and hardworking, Bimbo has handled many projects for Evergreen Musical Company, including the Nigeria Independence Parade of Stars; Dr. Victor Abimbola Olaiya’s 60 years on Stage; A Centenary of Nigerian Music at 100 Years (1914-2014); Last of the Originals, public presentation and launching of the entire works of Fela Anikulapo Kuti; Ariya Eko Music Festival in partnership with the Lagos State Government; Faaji Agba Eko; and many more.

Bimbo is a columnist for City People Magazine, Nigeria’s oldest society soft-sell magazine, where she contributes weekly to their music column. Her unabated love for knowledge led to the creation of “Members of Music Icons” (MMIs), an online chat group that comprises famous Nigerian music icons, researchers, music collectors, music directors, art collectors, poets, journalists, radio presenters, university deans, HODs, and other prominent personalities from different sectors of the economy, all with the common goal of sharing music education and experiences.

I guess we are talking here of cultural anthropology here as opposed to physical, the parent discipline of modern Cultural Studies.

Its quite interesting that a specialist in the music industry will be engaging the living legend and not a generalist.
