For those who are not easily impressed and those who don’t want to be impressed but know that they have no choice but to be impressed because even Uncle Sam is impressed by this show of Chinese genius flexing & showcasing some military muscle ( bearing in mind that as usual the UK is the brain and in this era of world turbulence, with the USA under an aspiring autocrat like Donald J, the USA continues to be the muscle, so just looka here at what their top military brass have also been viewing :

China : Full Military Parade 2025

More details about that wondrous military parade and the awesome weapons on display

President Donald J Trump who is said to have special love & admiration for strong men,

sent the following Message to his Great rival, China’s President Xi Jinping 👍

Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America

Of course if Hamas had acquired those kind of weapons last night

by this morning Trump would have completely abandoned his plans

for erecting a few Trump Towers in his New Riviera Playground in Gaza and instead would have been begging for an unconditional ceasefire and the Peace Deal of the Century or would find himself facing threats of very unpleasant

consequences: Facing Phase 2 of Somebody Blew Up America

That's what Bobby Dylan meant where he crowed

“Democracy don't rule the world

You better get that in your head

This world is ruled by violence

But I guess that's better left unsaid”

Some of the Hawks in America must have been thrilled

when Nobel Peace Prize Aspirant Donald J.Trump announced

that it was time for the Pentagon to receive a baptism of fire

that according to USA’s Commander-in-Chief, facilities should be

called  by their proper names, and henceforth the Pentagon is to

be renamed “The Department of War” thereby trying to scare the

excrement out of the Mullahs in Iran….

As Curtis told the nation (singing about Richard Milhous Nixon

But they don’t know

there can be no show

and if there’s a hell below

We’re all going to go….

Meanwhile, here’s the latest juicy piece of kalabule news from Ghana

Ghana's President sacks Ghana's Chief Justice because of alleged corruption

( You can of course imagine the kind of fallout if our own JAGABAN were to fire Naija’s CJ  -then there would probably be “hell “ topay

And here’s what

the anti-kalabule poet

who is himself corrupt

would be heard barking :

“This is the kind of shit

that happens

when you appoint the Mafia

to investigate the police & military  “

But we can all take a deep breath and relax

knowing that

This could not possibly be about Nigeria

And if it should ever come to that , well here’s some sane advice culled from the latest missive posted on “ Our Unfinished Work " ,some  general guidelines / “Rules for Escaping the Abyss”:

“This pit isn’t bottomless, though sometimes it seems so.

Any time you fall into an abyss, you will wonder whether it is or isn’t bottomless. Abysses have an earned bad reputation. You don’t want to think that extrication or escape is impossible.”

Anti-climax : "Madam," I warned,

"I hate a wasted journey--I am African."

Silence. Silenced transmission of

Pressurized good-breeding….

That Was The Week That Was ( way back)

A little later ( 1986-88) this amusing British series, Yes Prime Minister (The Diaries of the Right Hon. James Hacker.)

How wonderful  - “How good and how pleasant it would be before God and man to have a Nigerian version, in the same spirit, and titled “Yes Mr President” - yes sah, in the spirit of Bob Marley, scripted and executed by a cast under the direction of e.g. the exemplary Mr Macaroni  ( at his usual best here for example

Laughter may not be the solution to lack of electricity, or the best way of tackling pernicious corruption, but, granted that “laughter is the best medicine” (not for madness or malaria of course) we can make the psychologically safe conclusion that since laughter could be therapeutic we would therefore need more serious comedy and satire that can exorcise some of the demons, the hatred, the evil, the tensions and frustrations from some of the pent up ethnic emotions of the populace. I say this having observed too much venom ( vicious emotional catharsis) expressed here for example and elsewhere too, so much venom, without humour, so we have an empty suit that has run out of ideas, fuel, steam, substance, in possession of no self-respect, having nothing better to say than that his president is a “criminal”, and of course, occupying the higher moral ground, Mr President doesn’t intend to roll in the mud with the lacklustre urchin and so we (some of us) thank God that Mr President has wisely opted to ignore the urchin, in tune with the Yoruba proverb, “Let the fool speak and the wise give no answer”, a proverb that I first heard from my grandmother Clarissa. I also that Sir Ahmadu Bello was very mellow…

I wanna clear up Trump renaming the Pentagon ”The Department of WAR”  and what I said previously about that renaming, that Trump was “thereby trying to scare the excrement out of the Mullahs in Iran”, when in fact it’s no worries on the part of the Iranian Admin because as far as they are concerned, whilst enjoying his brief moment here on earth, Trump may even rename the contraption “The Department of State-Sponsored Terrorism “ or “ The Emperor’s Department of Treachery, Duplicity, Fear and Paranoia” but here’s the abiding truth concerning this and other matters :

lahaula walakuata illabillah hil aliyil adzim

 Quran 2:62 states clearly,

“Lo! Those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans - whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.”

The Quran repeatedly exhorts the believer, “ Fear them not; fear Me

Other news : In Cameroon, Nigeria’s neighbour to the East, the Separatists struggle continues, they  want a divorce from Paul Biya & The “French” part of the country that has Yaoundé as its capital, and as a consequence they are advocating a total boycott of next month’s elections, they want to declare Ambazonia as their own independent, sovereign country

Just a few days ago ( last week) Two Ambazonia separatists were indicted in USA, and because Trump’s USA doesn’t want them to use the US as a “ terrorist base" if they are found guilty it’s probable that they could be sentenced to  lifetime imprisonment

Last week dear Yoruba Sista Kemi Badenoch was being persecuted like a third world politician  -she was being harassed about here A level results:

David Harrison said, “This pit isn’t bottomless, though sometimes it seems so.”

So he thinks that the shit isn’t bottomless? That kind of pep-talk optimism only means that he wasn’t talking about “the bottomless pit”, the abyss, the real bottomless pit. Nobody who has actually been down there has ever returned.
