Thank you for this illuminating article. 

We have to really note no. 5 on your list, to understand the reactions within some segments of the Kano community, and  for  an empathetic awareness  of why people react in a particular way.

I believe that you are also pointing to the

multi -disciplinary intervention  and advice needed in the battle against Covid19, from economists, geographers etc., and other professionals besides the scientists. Sociological  issues are indeed important in the fight.

 There will indeed be a great struggle to convince various population groups to take any emergent vaccine, given the  tarnished record surrounding polio vaccination in the region.

This is a good advice to the government, communities and corporations to fund research regularly to understand how the people are coping with daily challenges, not just with the pandemics.

Moreover, social research should not focus exclusively on the attitudes of the people to government policy, social scientists should also take seriously indigenous knowledge systems and healing practices that may be helping more of the migrant workers to prevent infections and even cure some in their villages with or without support from the government.
