Democracy is still the best form of choosing persons for governance because of its plurality.

Plurality(One man/woman, one vote) is the nearest to equality of all persons (a fundamental human right). Thus, in a democratic selection of rulers exercise, the rich, the poor, the educated, the not so educated, the not educated, etc have just one vote in the choice. No other form of selection comes close.

Democratic selection of persons for governance like other human activities however have its shortcomings and can be manipulated, but in all, its advantages outweigh its disadvantages and places it on a better scale with regard to other forms of selecting persons for governance.

Moreover, the freedoms prescribed in fundamental human rights principles are more guaranteed in democratic governance than in other forms of governance.

Lastly, modern sociopolitical and economic dynamics make democratic governance imperative.

Thanks.
