Dear ASUU Chairman
To take a word recently used by Professor Wole Soyinka,it's bizarre using your academic children as bargaining chips. My aunt would tell me that family is like a Cathedral.whats more she told me that life is a battle . you must be battle ready.what's more my uncle would add that marketing is the first and last thing in business.you have to be business like.you have to market the university criss cross nigeria knock on doors after doors
Its a game of numbers.. Learn how to play golf . you would meet high networth individuals including london the financial capital of the world . read the financial times of london to follow where the trillions of dollars are going
. But the opinion held of the university or ASUU is crucial to your success. Public relations is about opinion its not about sales.
Government has enough intelligence but the government is over burdened.what you do for your elf is trickle up. What you have from the government is trickle down.
Quit the trenches and go back to the drawing board and do an audit of your assets and liabilities.
You have
1 9000 professors. I know a nigerian professor worth 600 million dollars. He did not steal the morning, he is an inventor innovator,so you can imagine what 9000 professors can be worth.good book: Titled, scholarship reconsidered , priorities of the professoriate
2 60,000 lecturers
3 125,000 post graduates
41.8 million undergraduates as grassroots infantry fund raising moral material support.
Reflect the students' achievement at fundraising on their transcripts like 5 points for leadership, team playing, organizational ability, interpersonal skills etc as an incentive then all the undergraduates would be organizing for the success of the university. This is in line with the interest of the private sector.they want graduates who are go getters.who can bring in the wealth.
5 non academi c staff bringing significant things to the table
6 libraries, laboratories and workshops and workstations
Money is not the only currency.you have skills, competences, reputation, contacts transactions
You have engineers. They are problem solvers that why they are taking over from MBAs as the worlds top CEO. talk to your professors of business strategy.
Nigeria is full of opportunities because Nigeria is full of problems.
Talk to Baba Dr Albert Olajide Akinyemi, the doyen of small enterprises.Illustrious son of Africa. A credit to the black Race.
There are 41 million SMES in Nigeria. THEY NEED knowledge because knowledge is FUEL FOR BUSINESS. UNIVERSITIES HAVE VAST KNOWLEDGE.
perhaps you could do somethings together taking a cue from the PAN ATLANTIC UNIVERSTY a private but progressive university,
