Some dey wear uniform,

Some dey wear civilian cloth.

Some go school,

Some no go school.

Some just dey claim certificate,

All of dem just dey make mouth.

Naija polithiefcian dem

Dey tie wahala like wrapper.

Dem don carry dem wahala

Wan come spoil we jolly,

Dem don carry dem katakata

Wan come spoil we valentine.

Naija polithiefcian dem,

Dem body sabi busy well well.

Dem don busy sotay

Dem carry dem yeye election

Abi na selection sef?

Put for di day

Wey we dey jolly valentine.

No be say Naija election

Dey dey coolee sef,

Naija election na katakata.

Baba God don help us.

Naija polithiefcian dem

Don carry dem busy body

Comot dem yeye election

For di day of we valentine jolly.

Country people,

Make we forget Naija polithiefcian dem,

Make we forget Naija yeye election,

Make we first jolly valentine jare.

Valentine's day has come and gone!

Only the ides of March ( March 15 ) – is not yet come and gone.

What did you jolly well do on St. Valentines Day dear Chidi?

Ah! The Naija elections would by now have been a thing of the past and the elections results would now be hotly contested from North to South – as they will be – no matter who wins.

As for me, I was taken unawares when my Better Half approached me first thing in the morning and give me a peck on the cheek – I looked at her askance and she explained, Valentine's Day!

Later I got to musing about our dearly departed Valentine Ojo and what would have been the probable tenor of his political commentation, these desperate times.
Many thanks for your Reports and poetic updates...
