Dear friends and colleagues:

I am currently developing a graduate level course on “Peace and Conflict in Sub-Saharan Africa.”  My background is sociology.  If you know of any relevant scholarly books and peer-reviewed articles on this subject area, please send the information to: afroe...@hotmail.com.  Thanks.

The attached is about the role played by the "rule of law" in wealth creation and development, but most of Africa's conflicts are grounded in the struggle for scarce resources, so this might help. Take a look at it. Thank you. John

Charles,

Look at the book Hot Spot written by our own Toyin Falola and Adebayo Oyebade. The link is below

There is also the book War and Peace in Africa by Toyin Falola and Raphael Njoku

Dear Charles,

Looking at Sierra Leone as a case study, you may want to look at my edited collection: "When the State Fails:  Interventions in the Civil War in Sierra Leone"', Published by Pluto Press, London, 2012.
