A long one, for the long haul :

Gloria In Excelsis Emeagwali

Hopefully, you must have also heard this very important literary news item that this year’s Nobel Literature laureate László Krasznahorkai writes without punctuating with any full stops

I guess it takes a lot of courage to do that - a lot of courage and perhaps not too much respect for his potential readers, ironically reminding me as he does about this lyrical sentence from another noble Nobel Literature Laureate :

Where another man's life might begin

That's exactly where mine ends

Worst case scenario, an unending James Joyce type of stream-of-consciousness without let-up, to the very unperforated end…

László Krasznahorkai says that only the Almighty - Hashem - Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala - Olodumare writes / is entitled to write without any full stops, and that’s true of The Torah too, you know,  it's supposedly just one long uninterrupted sentence, black fire on white fire, no paragraphs, no chapters or chapter headings or other human signs or the art or science of writing conventions etc…

You would have thought that the omniscient writer - creator of his own world of magical realism - should be entitled to that kind  or any other kind of freedom with sounds, spelling, grammar,  mere letters of some alphabet.

And  by the way, it’s said that the Almighty created everything with the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and how do you like that ?

This - that you’re now reading is in loving memory of our dearly departed brother and friend  Kenneth Harrow the mensch, and written in his honour, thus giving him some oxygen, so to speak,  and there’s no disrespect meant as I invite you to please take note of this : no more capital letters ( or capital punishment either) and please take very special note that there are no capital letters in hebrew , a language that’s venerated as a holy language // Lashon Hakodesh

and that it’s  ditto

for the rest of this

( no capital letters)

in this our theatre of the absurd

since shakespeare (colonel gaddafi’s “sheikh spear”)

claimed “ all the world's a stage”  -

in anticipation of globalism

called his theatre  “the globe”

whether its waiting for godot

or waiting for harry belafonte’s annual world global carnival

in this carousel

this political circus

merry-go-round

choosing our words wisely

inglorious or ridiculous

what’s the difference ?

think globally, act locally

dictatorship, democracy,

what’s the difference ?

some differences here:

i just heard our conservative prime minister ( ulf kristersson) chirping on swedish tv, that “the cost of groceries is high for everybody” as if the rich people also feel the pinch. of course, “power sweet” and he’s saying what he says because he’s ambitious, he (menopausal -as in “menopausal mind”) he wants to get re-elected pm (birdbrain, post-menopausal) and when herr kristersson talks like this, over here, trump’s traditional enemies the lefties should be singing bitter melodies that go like this:

“cost of living get so high, rich and poor they start to cry”

you (gloria)  say that your sister maría corina machado

being awarded the 2025 nobel peace prize is

“ridiculous - but it could

have been worse.”

full stop.

so, other than this non-violent, pro-democracy lady, who do you think should have been awarded the prize?

in my humble opinion perhaps not so ridiculous because i was expecting in excelsis to say something stronger - but wonders never cease because , not so clear in which chronological order, the news is

#  trump speaks with nobel peace prize winner machado after his administration denounced the decision to award it to her

#trump says machado the nobel prize winner phoned him and told him "'i'm accepting this in honor of you, because you really deserved it!"

a trustworthy reaction : sipri statement on the 2025 nobel peace prize

in all fairness, there are these two contradictory reports:

#nobel peace prize winner dedicates victory to trump: 'he deserved it'

#nobel peace prize winner dedicated prize to the people of venezuela

you can imagine how outraged trump would have been if the prize had been awarded to any of the other over 333 nominees for the 2025 nobel peace prize, such as cpj (committee to protect journalists  or the icc (international criminal court or the icj (international court of justice)

if transparently free and fair elections and no yuki-yuki is something devoutly to be wished for in the next Nigerian presidential elections that are already looming large over the horizon, then there must arise several conscientious elections observers such as maria, to monitor how it goes so that there will be no unnecessary weeping and gnashing of teeth and lamentations of “we was robbed” when the winner of the 2027 nigerian presidential election is announced.

here's a transcript which spells out the noble committees motivations in awarding the prize to maría corina machado this year ( please read the fine print ) :
