For those of on this side of the pond, New Year’s is still between 6 to 3 hours away.  But, we can begin to celebrate the inimitable Falola, whose birthday is some 3 and a half hours away, on January 1. 

I have taken, hopefully, the first shot in a salvo of big ups and boo yaa to Falola in the attached document.

Indeed!

What else is there to say? How else could it be said? Not much! TF, the drum major for the music of our collective social and intellectual conscience and existence, needs to be celebrated, not just today, but each and everyday the sun rises and its rays fall. May the dawn of a new day be to this hero a new beginning, as if he had never started; may it be the real start of his productivity -  as if none had taken place before; and may today be his launching pad of his relevance to humanity - as if the past relevances have been a child play. In the prayer of our ancestors, "May 200 years be to TF like the passage of a single year!"

Happy birthday sir to a great and wonderful intellectual, a man whose towering intellect has not in anyway affected his humanity and humanness. Since I met him physically he has become a source of inspiration and strength. No dull moment with him.

I celebrate you today and forever for being such a tower of intellect and Omoluabi. I don't know if a younger person is permitted to call an elder an "Omoluabi" since omo connotes young.

God will continue to protect and be with you. Ese ooo.
