I would have to say, we lost a major voice, a major africanvoice. She was an author with ngugi, an important leftist and radical voice alongside him during the years of struggle in kenya. She became a major feminist scholar as well. I like this tribute: "Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga shared his condolences on Twitter saying: “Our Comrade, Sister, and Revolutionary, Professor Micere Githae Mugo has joined our ancestors. May she shine in the light of the ancestral abode as she shone on earth with revolutionary light. Her revolutionary Spirit Lives.”

Notice must be taken of her important role and achievements for all of us. She, following aidoo, two very very strong african women voices
