#THE HUNGER CRISIS IN SUDAN

#Not as horrific as the Endsars Lekki Toll Massacre, but  you must agree that what has been transpiring in Kenya the past couple of days with Ruto threatening to raise taxes in order to help pay off the national debt is of greater concern to us that than some quaint report from our literary town crier about a nondescript manuscript by the late great Edgar Allan Poe, that almost did not see the light of publication. One would have thought that this vexing problem of taxation in places like Kenya, is most easily solved, that one formula fits all and that includes even the poorest countries in the world : one does not have to be a rocket science  academic or genius to understand the moral justice implicit in the Robin Hood system ( anathema to conservative parties, and to e.g. the Republicans): Tax the rich. increase their taxes, let them carry a fair share of the tax burden. Of course, I’m speaking on behalf of Bai Bureh who waged the Hut Tax War  - and for those who may be feeling disenfranchised even after some so called democratically held  or undemocratically rigged elections, after which their voices are no longer heard  - causing us to revisit one of the main causes of the American War of Independence when the rallying cry was “ No taxation without representation

#South Africa : Also worthy of our attention is Ramaphosa’s problems with surrendering to demands being made by his darling coalition partners, the so called Democratic Alliance whose leader wants to be crowned vice-president of South Africa and apparently also wants his party to capture the finance ministry, the land reform ministry, the Ministry of trade and Industry, the ministry of foreign affairs and the ministry of Justice and Internal Security  - or else -BLACKmail or is it Whitemail that he will bring down the ANC led government if Ramaphosa refuses to please or placate  him?

As to be expected, our man Julius Malema must be wondering like Einstein:

“A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?”
