Off the bat, please write that off as a 419 Institution per excellence.

Please stir clear of it.

Who would ever locate any educational institution at Ojuelegba of all
places available in Lagos - even an elementary school?

Dear Dosumu:

I googled the name and this is the website I found: http://www.tiuonline.com/tiu-usa/index.htm. All universities in the U.S. are accredited by a recognized accrediting body, but TIUONLINE claims accreditation is not necessary for the degree to be valid. See their argument here: http://www.tiuonline.com/tiu-usa/accreditation.htm. At the end they did not tell potential students their accrediting body. And they have affiliated campuses all over the world. See: http://www.tiuonline.com/tiu-usa/centers_and_affiliations.htm. How many established universities can boast of the resources to set up branch campuses in so many countries? If you have someone interested in graduate studies tell them to look very well before they leap. Otherwise they might find out they are leaping into the Lagoon in Lagos. I know having a “kpali” in Nigeria is now the in-thing. Naija man say “e get as e be.”

Please to avoid embarassment,we must  call the attention of the NUC, the Federal Ministry of Education, the Nigerian Universities and the Federal Government of Nigeria to quickly prevent the operation of this "UNKNOWN' Institution in Nigeria. This is not what we want in Nigeria. Thank you. Professor  Oladimeji Aborisade.

I volunteer to personally drive across the Mississippi to visit this campus, if it really exists, and have a chat with the "chancellor," if he truly exists. St. Louis, Missouri, is only 20 minutes West of my home in southern Illinois. The problem is that I have found neither the address nor the zip code for this "university."

This is clearly a diploma mill, as such universities are called here. One good indication of this is that it does not have a .edu domain name. All universities in the United States, at least as far as I am aware, have a .edu domain name.

I live here in St. Louis, Missouri, and I have never heard about the International University of Missouri. I would need further details about this operation to make adequate verifications - like who's running it and its main affiliations in St. Louis - that sort of thing. But my first instincts are rather suspicious of this venture.

Dear Professor Afolayan and all
As Rex as noted there is no such University within the vicinity of St. Louis, Missouri. From the address given 64055 is not a St. Louis zip code. The lists of Universities and colleges in the St. Louis area, both the Missouri and Illinois side (East Metro) is readily available online, and can equally be checked in various listings of standardized tests- GRE, GMAT, LSAT, SAT, and similar others. This institution seems more like a fake and having to waste your gas, which continues to rise, on such a trip is ill-advised and a waste of your time and valuable resources. I think the Nigerian madness for fake marketed degrees is responsible for the emergence of 419 institutions of this kind. We saw the upsurge of fake PhDs and other kinds of unverifiable degrees with the coming of democratic civilian rule in 1999, and there seem to be no end to it, as these many fake doctors continue to Idi Amin themselves in titular glorifications with no valuable relevance.

This so-called the International University, Missouri  is a fake university. This is another capitalist ripoff of the peoples of the developing world. The International University, Missouri has no physical campus in the United States but has campuses around the world and awarded its degrees on these campuses around the world. Its address in the United States is its website. A recognized university is accredited by nationally recognized accrediting authorities in the United States, however, International University, Missouri claimed that accreditation of a university is optional. See its website- www.tiuonline.com/tiu-usa.  Professor Aborisade's warning must be taken seriously by the National University Commission (NUC) and Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria to warn Nigerian students not to apply to The International University, Missouri, USA. It is a fraud and a fake universiversity. This so-called International University is out to exploit Nigerians and peoples around the world. Nigerian authorities and students should watch-out and find out about these capitalists exploiters, who are out to make easy money.

It is amazing to note that from the so-called website, one page
indicates the President of the University with Dr. John W. Johnston
holds 2 Masters Degree and three PhD on another page the same President
of the University holds 4 PhD . The other thing I noticed is that the
Administration of the University is headed by folks (3) of them with the
last name Johnston and 3 folks with the last name Bethel. I drove along
Noland Avenue in Independence, Missouri and there is no University on
the entire Noland Avenue in Missouri. This sort of criminal activities
must be stopped in its track. Shame on these folks.
