London - British Prime Minister Liz Truss has fired her Finance Minister Kwasi Kwarteng, the BBC reported on Friday, shortly before she is expected to scrap parts of his economic package in a bid to survive the market and political turmoil gripping the country.

Downing Street confirmed that Truss, in power for only 37 days, would hold a press conference later on Friday after Kwarteng was forced to rush back to London from IMF meetings in Washington to address the chaos.

The BBC said Kwarteng had been sacked. Downing Street declined to comment.

If that is confirmed, Kwarteng would become Britain's shortest serving chancellor since 1970, and his successor would be the country's fourth finance minister in as many months.

As Brother Chidi Anthony Opara put it the other day,  “The crowd who hailed Christ "hosanna in the highest" on Sunday was the same crowd who shouted "crucify him" against Christ on Thursday, a time space of only 4 days. This is an important lesson in crowd psychology.”

Except that in this case, it was not a matter of “ crowd psychology”.  To all intents and purposes it would appear that Lizzie is doing it - sacrificing her Kwasi - shipping him down river / throwing him under the bus in order to save her own precious skin…

But, gentlemen  please suspend any hasty theories of “ racism” or singing that Big Bill Broonzy blues, "If you was white ( like e.g. Jeremy Hunt) you'd be alright, if you was brown, you could stick around, but as you's black, oh, brother, get back, get back,” because  Sister Kemi Badenoch is  still being rewarded for her loyalty, is still sitting tight as Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade

We ( black, brown and blue) all know that above all when it comes to the economy, private, personal or national, the Scots are known to be parsimonious. It’s, therefore, no wonder to hear Scotland’s First Minister Nikola Sturgeon: Tories roasting Liz Truss

Sir Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats doesn’t spare her either

After sacking Hon Kwasi Kwarteng,  her Chancellor of the Exchequer,  her main pillar of economic stability, that she was going to lean on  - after those decisive debates with Lakshmi’s courageous, stalwart and savvy Rishi Sunak the Besserwisser who consistently pointed out the pitfalls of her intended fiscal policy  - his saying that “Borrowing your way out of inflation isn't a plan, it’s a fairytale” is still ringing in our ears  - so, as Richard Quest explained on CNN a few minutes ago, that’s where the UK is heading with Jeremy Hunt, Lizz Truss’s latest pillar of stability -  the pillar that she hopes will “stabilise” the economy, in the current global circumstances, the wobble-wobble recession blues/ WW3 on the horizon.

If you want any further proof that it’s not a matter of how long Liz Truss and her new “pillar of stability” are going to last as Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer respectively, you need to look no further than here at what one of Sweden's smartest, an MIT Professor Max Tegmark says about Ukraine-Russia, and if you need something more apocalyptic  than this to help you understand that  it may well be that the end is nigh and we are all living in the very last days, looka  HERE
