COVID-19: Nigerians React As NCDC Reports First Death, Identity Revealed
The nightmare has just begun as Nigeria has officially recorded the first death from the Coronavirus (COVID_19). The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported this on their official Twitter handle. Just a few moment after, Sahara reporters revealed the identity of the 67 year old Nigerian who died from the virus.
According to Sahara reporters, the victim who died was identified as Ex-PPMC Managing Director, Suleiman Achimugu. The NCDC reports that the deceased passed on as a result of the underlying medical conditions which made it difficult for the deceased to overcome the COVID_19 infection.
He already suffered from multiple myeloma and diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy. The 67 year old returned to Nigeria following a medical procedure in the United Kingdom.
For those who still doubt the very existence of this virus in Nigeria, now is the time to accept the reality and put measures in place to avoid being infected. See reactions from Nigerians below:
Eat healthy and boost your immune system
WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY AND THOROUGHLY WITH SOAP AND CLEAN WATER
Restrict movement
Clean your surfaces with bleach
Do not do self medication, you could make things worse
DO NOT PANIC
DO NOT SPREAD FALSE INFORMATION
We will overcome this together
For more information please follow the appropriate accounts of the NCDC on social media. Report any suspected case to the appropriate authorities. Stay safe and self isolate.
MAY HIS GENTLE SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE
