Sanctimonious posturings will never help to rid our society of malfeasance.
The rot is systemic.
This Tinubu certificate saga is only getting attention because the subject is a very high politically exposed person, whose opponents desperately want the position he is occupying.
How about the many who are also guilty of Tinubu's alleged sins and maybe also in the crowd crucifying him?
One of my daughters sought admission a few years ago. Her first choice of institution and course was University of Nigeria (UNN Nssuka) and law, her second choice was Rivers State University and Banking and Finance.
Her JAMB result was good and she was given UNN and law.
On getting to UNN for her "apptitude test", she was informed that she must pay 250,000 naira bribe or she should forget about law.
To cut long story short, I didn't have that kind of money for bribe and wouldn't have paid even if I had the money.
I then pleaded with my daughter to take the second option of studying Banking and Finance at the Rivers State University.
My daughter had since graduated, so also those whose parents paid the 250,000. Some of those who became lawyers courtesy of the ability of their parents to pay that bribe may likely be among those crucifying Tinubu.
If we don't fight the systemic rot that produces this kind of situation, we will continue to mouth these sanctimonious platitudes, while the systemic rot festers.
Thank you all for your time.
