'The Unknown Bullet' for Unknown Citizens!!
The tragedy is that police report is always different from eyewitness report and the victims may never be known. Many Nigerians are unknown citizens. Only the social unit- nuclear family, extended family, religious organisations, social clubs, hometown associations, friends and such social and indigenous units actually 'know' the citizens. Of course, those official records do exist starting with the National Population Commission, National Identity Management Commission and so on. In Yoruba we say, 'eni to ba kan lo mo', that is, only the person close to the victim feels it. The linguists will do better. Each citizen needs to be accounted for so '...we won't be orphaned in our collective humanity....' in '...this season of blood....' . A season of blood indeed!!!
