This powerful piece on the late Prof Akin Mabogunje would be evergreen and has stood the test of time. It lucidly summarises some of the outstanding accomplishments of this giant of our time. Only you, Ojogbon Agba and Bobapitan TF can produce it. I missed it when it was first written in 2017, but I am pleased I have now read it.

As he joins our ancestors, we wish those he left behind well, especially the close family members. He would be sorely missed.

Our consolation is that Baba lived a good life; he was a giant that probably preceded his time. He mentored many and contributed vastly to several good causes.

May his soul rest well – so long and goodnight, Baba.
