Colloquium/Cultural Evening in Honour of Kunle Ajibade
Dear
Friend/Colleague/Well-wisher,
The
60th Birthday Colloquium/Cultural Evening in
Honour of Kunle Ajibade
As you might be aware, our
friend and colleague, Kunle Ajibade, a rounded
journalist, author of Jailed for
life, and
What a Country!, an omoluabi to
the core, will be 60 years old on May 28,
2018.
To
honour him, the Friends of Kunle Ajibade and other well
wishers are putting together a one-day Colloquium in
his honour on Wednesday May 30 at the Nigerian Institute of
International Affairs (NIIA) on Kofo Abayom
Street, Victoria Island, Lagos by 10a.m. It would be
followed by a Cultural Evening/Poetry Reading at
Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos by 5p.m. on the same
day.
The Colloquium, which would be
led by Professor Wole Soyinka, the 1986 winner of the Nobel
Prize for Literature, is on
A Bright Future for Nigeria and How to Get
There. This would involve a number of notable
speakers including Dr. Kingsley Chiedu
Moghalu; Mrs. Ayo Obe; Mr. Femi Falana (SAN); Ms.
Ayisha Osori, Mr. Owei Lakemfa, etc. The
Cultural Evening will comprise tributes, readings and
music, involving poets, solo saxophonists, drummers and
other performance artistes.
While looking forward to your
attendance of these events, we also urge you to offer your
support to these activites designed to honour our friend,
who truly deserves to be celebrated. Your
support could be channeled through the account opened towards
this purpose, the detais of which are: Friends of Kunle

thank you in anticipation of your contribution.
Sincerely.
