I’m propelled into writing this piece of general levity, as a result of balking at the not so preposterous idea of Trump’s birthday being declared a National Holiday in the United States of America. You must agree that it’s perhaps a little premature to propose such a National Holiday, because in the view of many - and not only his enemies and of course people like Al Green, Bernie Sanders, the Defiant Lawyers, the Democrats, maybe even Barack and Michelle Obama, for whom such an idea I’m sure is anathema, the fact is that he probably doesn’t deserve declaring his birthday - the 14th of June as a National Holiday, not yet, but who knows, after he has succeeded - by popular consensus / the great majority - in making America Great Again, -big deal - who would grudge him such an honour? I mean Honor. Then he could have joined the ranks of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Martin Luther King Jr who has his Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the 19th of January - his birthday - and Stevie Wonder could compose another Happy Birthday song, this time in honour of President Donald J. Trump…
The opening words of Bird's Word by The Last Poets : “Everything was silent” -
like on the morning when the Almighty gave the Jewish people the Torah —the Ten Commandments.
Everything was silent - and then came Trump!
In less than a hundred days, how things have changed , so dramatically ! And what an energetic president he is ! So many press conferences! Rightly described as the most transparent president ever -at least in this his second term, up to now. Who sabi tomorrow?
“Okay, the vision fades,
Sex sews them together.
Sex sets them apart.
And the territorial complex !?
It grips you in the guts”
Before the mother of all US Presidential Elections, one visited these sites frequently, to catch a glimpse of the latest gossip, contemporary history as gossip:
Not any more, now that Kamala’s gone into oblivion, gone with the wind, some say “Thank God” for that, in thanksgiving the Evangelicals pray, “Glory be to God in the highest!” that Trump won and deserved to win after narrowly surviving that dastardly long range assassination attempt on his precious life, and just as he himself told the nation at his inauguration, about the God that does not sleep, “But I felt then and believe even more so now, that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again “ - and lo he is now sitting securely in the saddle at the Oval Office, once again on the sacred mission to Make America Great Again!
From day one it has been “Never a dull moment” - also the title of a hardboiled Lemmy Caution story by Peter Cheyney : Never a Dull Moment - compliments of Joseph Carpenter my classmate 1966-69… except that from Day One - January 20th 2025, Never a Dull Moment with Trump’s second coming has been more interesting, some will say, more exciting and it’s only day 89 of his 2nd coming. Fast forward and just imagine what could be accomplished by Day 89 of Jesus’ Second Coming and his 1,000 year reign on this planet !
In the meantime, it’s funny, but no wonder that these days people around me are ceaselessly talking about what Trump says, what Trump said, whatever words drip or drop from his lips, on a daily basis. It seems that they are more acquainted with the sayings of Donald Trump than with what Jesus famously said in The Sermon the Mount or The Ten Commandments from Mt Sinai ( I almost wrote “ Mt. Zion”)
Kamala seems to have completely disappeared from the radar; out of sight and out of mind, out, like a light. But it’s an American tradition - you lose an election and you disappear. We are to assume that if Kamala Harris had won, the world would have been an infinitely less exciting place, all peace and quiet, in Greenland and Canada, no excitement, in fact apart from the continuing Genocide in Gaza - and perhaps a continuation of up the ante with Sleepy Joe Biden’s policy of long live the military-industrial complex with more US weapons to Zelensky, pretty boring, no flurry of executive orders signed with a flourish in front of a live audience, no deportations of illegal aliens, no no nonsense policies about immigrants and immigration, no protectionist tariffs, no student uprisings, not to mention the sunrise of nauseous antisemitism on US campuses, and no wars on academic freedom either, and Kamala would have deserved a Nobel Peace Prize just for that.
And here’s some of judgmental man’s inhumanity to woman
If Kamala had won, perhaps the only novelty would have been that for the very first time in American History the American and the World Press would have been talking about the anomalous, somewhat awkward situation of having a First Gentleman in the White House , to be playing second fiddle to the First Madam President in the history of the United States…
