Words of wisdom: Telling it like it is….
Rabbi Yaron Reuven <https://www.google.com/search?q=Rabbi+Yaron+Reuven> -
from 25 Jul 2024 :
“When a politician says something, it doesn’t matter what they say, you
should know that everything that a politician says has an agenda, it’s
never at face value. It doesn't matter who the politician is, if it's an
American politician, Israeli politician, a politician from Bangladesh, a
politician from Canada, politicians by definition are people that are
arguing for agendas. Somebody told me,one time, years ago, that politician originally
comes from the word tick <https://www.google.com/search?q=tick> -
bloodsucker - not sure if it’s 100% correct, it’s very possible, but
nonetheless that’s what a lot of politicians do to their followers, to
their supporters :They suck as much blood , as much money as they can ,
from people, in order to fight for people's agendas. So, in reality the
politician usually doesn’t have his own opinion, he has paid opinions ;
whoever is paying him, whoever is supporting him, whoever is giving him
money, that’s what he’s going to preach. If, one day, people that are
against Israel are supporting him ,that’s what he’s going to preach. If the
next day, richer people , supporting Jewish people are supporting him,
he'll do just that; that’s how politicians are, and, unfortunately, that's
the case with every one of these politicians; there’s no difference among
them, they’re all coming with their agendas either to gain the public
opinion to do one thing or another in order for the politician to gain more
money, more support, more power, so they can do other bigger things and it
seems unrealistic…”

A new dayWithout the sonorous Songs of songbirds And the bustle Of busy humans and animals.
The sun struggled to rise,Struggled to shine,Weighed downBy the dark couds of July.
The clouds unleashed rain, The rain drenched and drained Our knapsack of knowledge.
The iron birds Could no longer fly,The medicine men,The medicine womenNo longer know The cure for our illnesses,Our civilization collapsed.
The rain Rained in torrentsAnd drenched our earthDevoid nowOf our knapsack of knowledge.

Gloria: I wonder if it was designed by Boston University African Studies Program in the late '70s to early '80s. It was the same Center that originated the map called "How Big Is Africa?" Sara Berry was there long ago when Bababra Brown was the Title VI Center Director. They may know something about it. Unfortunately, I don't have their contacts any longer. But your advice is great; if you don't attach your name to your own design, copyrighted and dated, it's in public domain and becomes a gift to the world. It's a book without an author!

Does anyone know who originally designed the African fabric map?
It was posted on this list some years agoby one of us. Now it is being appropriated bya South Asian researcher who boldly claimsthat she created the African fabric map.
I am trying to trace the original innovator.
My suggestion for all is that for anydesign/map/chart, please insert yourname on the actual design along withthe copyright symbol, to preempt intellectual theft.
